Can somebody please tell me the difference between the following Jedi symbols?

Which one would be the definitive Jedi symbol?

To my knowledge, they all are depending on when you're talking about. The last two at least, are both genuine Jedi order symbols. If I'm not mistaken, the second is old republic and the third is new republic. The first appears in the Jedi Knight series of videogames, but I am not sure if it is actually a symbol of the order.

The first, like Chukles said, is the symbol for the Jedi Knight video game series, at least from Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast onward to Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, appearing on the coverwork of both.

The third is the symbol for the Legacy era of Expanded Universe material (novels set post-Return of the Jedi and post-NJO, approximately 40 years after the events of A New Hope, as well as comics set approximately 100 years after that).

I'm not entirely sure about the second, though it seems like some kind of hybrid between the Old Republic symbol (seen on military units, distinct from the similar Imperial symbol) and a lightsaber to form a sort-of parallel to the Legacy image-- perhaps as an Old Republic Jedi symbol.

The second is also similar to a logo from a Jedi poster that came out during the RotS timeframe.

Ok, so the second would be up to Episode III, and the third would be after Episode VI?

Ok first has been discussed, however the third symbol is the Legacy of the Force Series Books. in other words the books 40 years after ANH. The Second one is from the Legacy comics set 140 years from ANH.

The second one is also in that prequels poster. So would it be safe to say that the second one is the original one up to the end of Episode III, then through Episodes IV - VI there is no symbol (because there is no Jedi Order), then it goes to picture three for a few years, then back to picture two through the present?

In all honesty, Those symbols just differinciate the different times of Star Wars. They are not only Jedi symbols. The symbol for Episodes 4-6 is The Imperial Seal. Then it moves the New Republic symbol, then the New Republic, New Jedi Order, Legacy of the Force, and Legacy. There is also Sith, and Prequel symbols. That is all these symbols are.

Um, no. The third one, like I already noted, denotes the entire Legacy era, including the comics (as seen in the upper right corner of the cover here) AND the novel series (as seen on the cover here).

Now, there really is no "definitive" Jedi symbol. The first and third symbols are actually out-of-universe identifiers, with the first being more or less the "logo" for the Jedi Knight video game series (again, at least from Outcast onward), and the third being the "logo" of the Expanded Universe material set in the Legacy era. The second one, again, is ambiguous, though the presence of Old Republic insignia prominently displayed means it would be pretty safe to assume it's at least something to do with that era of Jedi-- in- or out-of-universe.

It just depends on what you're looking to use the symbol for yourself, really.

I think that it is the exact same symbol, just shiny

    Anyone else notice Commander Deviss?
