This is in reference to Episode II, however I think it may be more appropriate for the literature section. In the Attack of the Clones, Yoda talks about the 'cloud' or 'veil' of the darkside preventing the jedi to predict things and muddles their connection to the force. I was just curious if any literature or comics tell more about what this is? How is it done? Does the emperor stay in a meditative state to cloud their judgement or has he simply gained the power to maintain a constant haze over the jedi's force intuition? If there isn't any published explainations of this, I'm curious to see what all of you think on this 'power' or ability? Do you think it's even an ability, or a natural effect of the darkside? As seen in Empire Strikes Back, the darkside of Dagobah does not seem to 'cloud' luke from seeing leia, han, and chewie on Bespin. However, it can also be argued that the darkside of the planet was exclusive to that tree/cave Yoda told Luke to go into. Just interested to hear some theories.
It's more of a metaphor I think. Not a literal veil that prevents vision, but something that influences it and is apparent. It clouds their judgement and affects them. Shatterpoint alluded to it a bit, but there's really nothing major on it.
Yes, I know it's a 'metaphor' and not an actual CLOUD or VEIL, but I was just wondering if it's actually an ability of a dark jedi or a sith. Sorry for the confusion, I gotta learn to write better.
I would think it would be something Palpatine does on purpose when he's around Jedi. -Jedi Master Zax Starwalker
