Viceroy Nute Gunray is my favorite character in the Star Wars universe and it's great that he's in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. But the costume he has in the show isn't the favorite of the three he has been seen in. The first one, that Gunray uses in the Phantom Menace is clearly my favorite and then it's the one in Revenge of the Sith. I really hope that the writers or the animators could change the costume to the first one from the Phantom Menace. And I know that why they use the Attack of the Clones costume beacause it's the correct time period or something like that, but anyway I really hope the change it for one of the other costumes, because they are so much cooler! What do you think!

I agree that his TPM costume is the best (the headress just looks cool). But I like the way they've done his AOTC outfit, and actually think it looks better in the series than it did in the film.

I'm still hoping we'll see an episode where Nute wears Neimoidian soldier armour though. :D

I totally agree with everything said in this thread thus far (especially that last part about the soldier uniform... :p)

Honestly, I hated the AOTC costume. It's really not so bad in the show (TCW Gunray is pretty much awesome incarnate anyway), but it looks too jester-ish. I'm hoping he shows up sometime wearing something completely different. Besides, his comrades are going to start to wonder why he's wearing the same thing all the time.

It doesn't hurt that he's also voiced by the man who voiced the best Starscream (Transformers Animated) in recent memory too. That alone gives Gunray x100 cool points.

As for the costume, yeah, I'm not much of a fan of the AOTC costume, if anything for the headdress. Yuck. Someone get that guy a personal stylist or the duo from 'What Not To Wear'! I guess if he had the TPM headdress /w his TCW costume, that would be sweet.

... As a matter of fact, now I want to draw that. I think I will!

I would like to see Nute Gunray wearing many different and extraordinary costumes.
He's one of the wealthiest beings in the galaxy; why would he even wear the same
outfit twice? Precious gems, rare metals--you name it. The guy should be on the
cover of GQ (Galactic Quarterly) every month. When you got it, flaunt it.

It just warms my heart after all these years, people still love Nute Gunray. I remember after TPM came out, thinking that I was the only person appreciating "the Viceroy."

Nute Gunray's character has really developed nicely on television. He has a twisted,
smart-*** sense of humor that works very well. He leads Kit Fisto into a trap and laughs
at him. He knocks Ahsoka Tano into a holding cell and ticks her off so well that she tries
to murder him with her lightsaber through a force field. He watches Asajj Ventress slaughter
a Senate Guard Commander and then cooly flatters her. What's not to like about Nute? The slimy
    wealth-worm rocks!

I think Gunray has really benefited the most from the transition to a TV series. They've got more room to develop his character. Plus most of the credit, IMHO, goes to Tom Kenny. His characterization just works.

Admittedly, I was skeptical when I learned Spongebob was voicing him (note that this was BEFORE I ever got around to watching TFAnimated) at first, but the man just nails it. It's hard for me to watch Gunray in TPM now because I'm so used to Kenny's smart-alec yet still cowardly interpretation from TCW.

Agreed with everything said thus far - I love how Nute has turned into the villain with the sense of humor, something few of the other villains have (though Bane's dry wit is awesome.)
I love the whole 'I never risk my own skin...if I don't have to' angle, his ownage of Gree might just be his finest moment ever.

I still want to see some Grievous/Gunray interaction! Maybe Grievous can stomp on his hat, forcing him to start wearing his old TPM one. :p

TPM costume is the best mainly because that is what he was introduced in.
