Anyone know where I can find a good Zelda desktop theme? I managed to get a "classic" Zelda one, with all the goofy NES sounds and such. But I want something more modern, like LOZ64 or something.
Well, I just ended up sort of modifying the old Zelda theme. I'm using a wallpaper that portrays the Master Sword embedded within its pedestal in the center of a clearing within a forest. Sunlight is pooling around the sword. My major icons (My Computer, etc) are all of Zelda-related items (treasure chests, shields, etc). And my cursor is a Triforce that switches to a sword and so on depending on what's going on with the computer. All the sound effects are old NES ones, so they sound kind of goofy, IMO.
Well they're basically the same as what I'm running. Download the sounds, remember where you saved them (that's an important one), then go to Control Panel. There should be an icon "Sounds". If it's not there, there should be a link that says "Show all icons/options/etc." I can't remember which one specifically right now. When/if you find Sounds, the first tab (the one the window opens up to) should have all the standard windows sounds. Pick a sound related to a task (like minimizing a window, and assign a sound to it. The zelda sounds aren't going to be on that list... you're going to need to click "browse" to get to the file where you saved the downloaded .wav files. There's an option to preview them, so make sure that you select the right one. When you have them all picked then make sure you save them pick a name that relates to the soundscheme, like "Zelda 64". Try it out, then boom you're done. Nothing like hearing Yoda say; "Do, or do not. There is not try." Whenever I get an error message.
The Zelda theme I already have already uses those same sounds, so there was no point in adding the sounds linked to. But something bad happened. I got a "SearchBar" stuck above my taskbar now. How do I get rid of it?
