Liked this one a lot more than I was expecting. Quite frightening actually. Always found the idea of banshees and the like pretty spooky, but this had a very interesting Star Warsy twist on it.

 

We need more Irish accents in Star Wars! I have no idea why but this reminded me of What If, I think it was the background colours. Kind of eerie in that we kind of have these slave kids off trying to have fun but the only option is kind of horrific. Very fitting for Star Wars.

 

Great ending!

 

Wasn’t too sure about this one and then the sequence in the cave and the ending was perfect. Great Star Wars. Original and effective.

 

Agreed that it was a little listless and bland. But the banshee and ending elevated it in the end. And I never tire of a LOTR reference, with the hand of the banshee crawling around the corner…

 

Agree that the ending was very strong. It's nice dramatic irony to see someone embark on a dubious "better" future.

I suspect Acolyte will be doing something similar.

Holy smokes. This was equally heartfelt and devastating. The characters really popped for me, and made good use of humor without getting too childish. My only real critique here is that at times it felt like I wasn't watching Star Wars, and I think it could have just used a bit more on the visual design to amplify that. But jeeze oh man what an ending.

This one was pretty good. As others have said I liked the Sith banshee and the ending was pretty devastating in a good way. It definitely wasn’t as visually stunning as Sith but it was charming.

 

Question is, which is more Star Warsy, Space Florida or Space Irish Kids? @A Chorus of Disapproval

 

Loved the opening scene at the factory and yeah, pretty surprised by the ending.. overall another good chapter!

I gave the episode a 9/10. Actually didn't particularly like it as much as I liked the first short from Season 2, but the visuals from Cartoon Saloon really brought it up a notch for me as I've been a fan of their studio with such titles like Song of the Sea and The Secret of the Kells.

 

Probably my favorite one this season. Such a simple story, yet it quite effectively gets at the root of darkness.

 

Maybe it's the red cape and the medallion but this animation reminds me of Secret of Nimh, it's got a 1980s Don Bluth aesthetic. The Banshee's design really captured the look of the Great Owl or Nicodemus. Unnerving, even scary. But beautiful and serene for what they are. The animation was probably my favorite part. The haunting music really set the mood for this greener grass story that kinda parallels Luke and flips the hero's journey on its head to an immediate fall to darkness. A factory of child slaves, a haunted cave, a trial that results in the slaying of an almost incapacitated banshee, and a devastating ending. Most likely leaving on a future that's not better. Loved the design of the master that came to collect the apprentice looked like the painting popped off a Russian nesting doll. But this was a slow burn and I guess I'm just too old for the "kick 'em in the arse" humor. And the craft that looks like something out of Ufotable's adaptions of the Fate franchise, Dark Sakura might disembark from was a bit much. 8/10

 

I love the One Sith lady. She hired some orphan to do her dirty work and now they can subjugate everything.

 

This was a weird one, mystical in a way that was kinda interesting too. Not fan of the animation style, but story was spooky in right way. It really had something deeper to say too and it left aura of mystery when it ended so I think it was overall a pretty good flick. I would have liked to see same story with different animation style though. Visuals were not that impressive IMO.

 

Meh, the constant screeching ruins this for me.
Not a bad episode, but not a great one either.
Moving on. I did not like the animation style.
