The biggest mystery for me during the Rebels Season 2 finale was the Voice of the Sith Temple (The Presence), some limited behind the scenes details are given on a wiki page:

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Presence

Considering the voice actor who played Ventress was cast for this part, and the voice was similar to both hers and Talzins, I thought it would be interesting to read the speculation from viewers. Apparently Filoni describes The Presence as the female Sith Lord who built the temple...

Well in the old canon Kreia found the temple there and began using it as a training ground right? I mean this was years after the sith occupied it I believe.

It seems strange to get Nika Futterman in to do that small part. A not so subtle hint that we may be seeing Ventress next season? Last we know she was laid to rest in that healing goop on Dathomir.

She died in DD. Maybe she can become like Mother Talzin, some kinda specter and feed off of living Force beings. But Ventress is most certainly not the ancient Sith Lord, but Ventress like Maul, possibly through Dathomir's strong connection to the Dark Side, are somehow according to these writers connected to every ancient Dark Side Force wielder(Maul the 2,000 or more(legends he was 1,000,000 y/o) year old Son) and Ventress( a couple of thousand year old Sith Lord so far unnamed).

While I suppose the Presence could be Kreia, I suspect it's more likely a new character. They completely reconned Malachor's history so other than the name the new Malachor has no connection to the Mandalorian Wars, Revan, or Kreia that we know of yet. I could be none of those things will ever exist within the new canon.

Someone said the Presence was a female Sith Lord and Dave was just waiting for "confirmation" before releasing the name (take with a pinch of salt). The speculation still points to the holocron being Revan and this is how Dave Filoni finally gets to make him canon.

I thought Filoni doesn't want to make Revan canon? My assumption was that he only cared about Rule of Two Sith.

From what I remember, Filoni wanted to include Revan/ was going to include Revan in the Yoda episode of CW when he goes to Moriband but it was vetoed by Lucas himself.

If I had to guess, Revan has a HUGE fan following, and Disney has to know this. I'm guessing they are saving him for SOMETHING. What that something is, I don't know - perhaps a Netflix live action series, next animated series, series of films after 7,8,9. But that's my guess. They're holding off making him canon because when they do, they'll do it in a big way.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

If anything, it will be the holocron being Revan's and spirit still remains inside it.

^ You might want to watch the double posts. I've already seen a few people in the forum talk about a potential resurrection of Ventress at some point. I'm not sure how that's feasible. From my perspective, I'd have preferred if it was Ventress herself - and not Maul - who was carried over into Rebels. I think her story was far more tragic than Maul's was. But yeah, I read DD. Gave resolution to her character for sure, but I still would've preferred more. Maul has been effectively brought back from the dead at least three times up to this point.

Do you guys think it was the presence that entranced Ezra at the start of the finale to touch the pillar? Or do you think it was Maul? Perhaps even the allure of the dark side itself?

I thought it was the dark side itself, but I swear I heard whispers.

Kreia and Revan were present on this planet and temple in the EU, but neither were responsible for building it, right? I think we'll be introduced to something / someone far more ancient. Perhaps the Mother in the Mortis equation, which is why I speculated it could be Talzin, especially if she is trying to aid Maul from the spirit realm. While the voice belongs to the Ventress actor, I see no reason to resurrect her for the purposes of pure evil.

I'm all about the resurrection of Ventress but if they shut her in the Temple like that and have her philosophize from above, they're taking away what's great about her.

But I'm also all about Nika Futterman voicing a badass female Sith Lord, so...make her badass if she's coming back.

The female Sith lord voice is the same voice of the one that built the temple according to Filoni.

I hope it's a new character and when I mean new I mean new!

Seriously Rebels needs some new recurring characters
OC recurring characters in rebels are
    Kanan
    Chopper
    Sabine
    Ezra
    Zeb
    Hera
    Ketsu
    Kallus
    Sato

Those are the only OC recurring characters who are still alive

Also Vizago, Governor Randy, Chopper's droid buddy, Kassius Konstantine, Old Jho, and Kevin Bacon.

Besides which, I think The Presence was a one-time only appearance. Unless she's also the Gatekeeper for the holocron.

She was most likely the gatekeeper because unless the voice was somehow attached to the temple it's the only logical step

    More details here:

    http://screenrant.com/star-wars-rebels-season-2-finale-sith-temple-ahsoka/

To me, that voice you hear is actually the ancient, ancient Sith Lord that created the temple. She was a powerful Sith Lord. I like the idea of this powerful, ancient woman that has domination that we’ve never heard of before, that was creating this massive weapon. And in the midst of the construction of this thing, when it was nearing completion, it got assaulted by ancient Jedi Knights. They have this huge battle at the foot of the temple, basically, and the weapon fires or malfunctions and everyone gets turned to stone. We had a lot of different versions of the story where – at one point, we see that thing fire initially when Ezra turns it on and it sends up that sphere. We were going to show that the one Eighth Brother had actually survived the fall and was scrambling towards his ship. Because he could use the Force probably to help himself land, and he was going to get hit by this wave. You would see it turn him to stone. Maul, because he would have been on a lower level when he saw the blast coming, would have survived it. And that’s how Maul winds up in the Eighth Brother’s TIE Fighter. He actually feels it and that’s when he flies out of there in the end. But yeah, there’s this ancient Sith Lord that Nika was playing, and I’m still going over the dos and don’ts of the continuity of all that. But I wrote the history down, I just put it out there in case people want to pick it up later when they’re working on things, and give some continuity. I won’t reveal the name – I have named the character, but I have to make sure everybody’s cool with it. -Filoni

After re-watching the episode for a second time, I did pick up the Ventress-style voice of the Temple. I guess the first time I wasn't really paying attention that closely.

It's interesting that at the end he says "I have a name, but I need to make sure everyone is cool with it" maybe it is a EU Sith.
