I know but I just hope they are good. All I know is Batman vs Superman will be good unless they screw it up beyond recognition. They are two powerful brands and I fear for the 2016 marvel film against it and the spinoff film (unless it's Boba Fett rumour then I would be happy)

I wonder if the Ep. 7 forums are just as bad. I don't feel too inclined to browse and find out for myself.

"I can't wait for this movie"
    "Me too!"
"I really enjoyed the first one."
    "So did I."
"I think it will be good."
    "There's a chance it won't."

It's like two bots are talking to one another.

Penguinator I'm not sure anyone's pointing the finger at you; you and Sinister, for example, are excellent sources of DC news.

I love Man of Steel. I have no problem with having a Batman vs Superman movie or even the JL movie, but I do strongly feel we need more stand alone Superman films...

You misunderstand, Peng. I was certainly not referencing posts like yours when I made that statement. I was definitely thinking of the dozen or so previous posts to mine.

I'm aware - my advice still stands, if it bothers you so much, don't read it.

Back on-topic: reports are that Affleck's injury was rib-related and not a leg injury as previously speculated. Pretty safe to say the delay is script/avoiding the 2015 gladiatorial event that is summer releases.

Right now I'm trying to forget Goyer wrote Blade Trinity.

Not leg related? So they can't just slap some robo-brace on his leg and never speak of it again and he'll be good as new?

I'm trying to forget that he wrote The Crow: City of Angels which took a massive **** on both the legacy of the first movie and Brandon Lee.

Almost all "based on a true story" films deviate from the actual events in some way or another. The core of the story was true, even if the details were a bit fudged. They're fudged to make for good drama, not for 100% accuracy. You want accuracy, go watch PBS. You want an award winning and nominated film, you tweak a few facts.

You were in the PT, Spoilers Allowed forums? Well, it's starting like that and will explode once the major bit of news hits. Followed by the rest and so on and so fourth.

I haven't even watched that one all the way through. I caught a bit on Encore Action, a couple of months ago, but that was about it. I didn't go to the theaters and didn't get it on DVD. As far as I'm concerned, the first two films are it. They tell a nice, round story and everything is wrapped up in a satisfying way. That said, I don't blame everything on Goyer. He did come up with a bad film, but he wasn't alone in it.

    Hence "terribly misrepresented actual events."

That's where we got the immortal line "****splash," if memory serves.

EDIT: Blade Trinity, that is. Green Lantern was nowhere near as creative.

I don't think this was linked to yet but more rumors on WB's plans with BVS & JL.

Although the amusing part is how they're claiming they want to avoid copying the Marvel blueprint by doing cliffhangers and short films for lesser characters instead of mid/post-credit stingers and short films for lesser characters...

EDIT- As far Blade Trinity lines go, "thunder****" was a fair bit up there on the creative level. ;)

So... the plan to "dethrone Marvel" by intentionally not doing small, mid-/post-credits stingers that potentially set-up future films after completing the existing film is... to just have the current film not end?

Dethroning Marvel would also require them to outsell Marvel, which isn't going to happen any time soon.

Ben Affleck could always jump ship and play some kindhearted janitor that is seen in every single Marvel phase 3 movie.

In the wake of Man of Steel, I've no confidence about how well they'll execute. However, I think the approach is conceptually sound. A ninety second celebrity cameo does not render something an "integrated" universe. I would much rather see meaningfully inter-woven narratives where the impact of one event or story has substantive impact on how others unfold. That's the real advantage of integrated models, after all, not just the occasional "team up" movie event and then a return to disconnected stories that only use the previous big movie as a fuel for comic asides (eg Stark's "PTSD" and the naked guy in Thor 2).
