Why, he does it in the animated cartoons?

In his first scene in "Return Of The Joker", he's alone with Ace and doing the voice.

You do realize that they are two completely different scenarios / reactions... right?

Both of them stop to do something personal while a city is ruins because of them. Hell, Tony talks about it before they go to capture Loki and Clark kisses Lois before he fights Zod.

Sure. Attempting to shoot the President of the United States in anger and shooting an armed intruder in your home are both shooting someone because of an emotional response too. But let's not let rationality get in the way of your argument!

This picture is the single most encouraging things about DC comic book films in the last several years. Full decade, perhaps.

So, what in your view, is the context?

    Never change, Jabba-wocky... never change.

In terms of the MoS and Avengers comparison, though I'm loathe to engage d-s in this since I'm trying not to clutter up the thread now that Ender's back and I'd like him to focus on the new, positive news (James Wan, Aquaman, etc.)...

One is Superman making a lame joke of "They say it goes down hill after the first kiss" while a) the fight is still going on and he has yet to save Earth (in a fight that, by all logic, he should lose very, very badly), b) standing literally in front the still-smoking ruins of her own city that they both seem horribly unconcerned about, and c) with a person who has -- to this point in the film -- evinced no desire to kiss (or really any chemistry at all at that point).

The other is Stark suggesting they go eat after the city is already saved -- and, in fact, makes it after attempting to self-sacrificing himself to save millions or billions of people -- and when informed they still need to finish up with Loki, agrees to finish up first and then eat. And no one's really enjoying the meal, except Thor -- because Thor. And the schwarma suggestion is totally in tone with Stark's character to begin with. It's not unreasonable to be hungry after saving the world; and (given the placement of the scene) you know that they do it after securing Loki (and, knowing Stark, they probably did give Loki that drink).

There's also the fact that unlike Superman, the Avengers gave the slightest **** about saving people. It's a film that EARNED its levity.

Boy what a deleted scene that would have made. The Avengers pour Loki a drink. And then after they put that weird gag on him. Some odd discussions came out of that, some of which are not allowed to be discussed on here. I shouldn't really have thought about it after all. Might stay in this thread. I Follow the news and am looking forward to the films. Suicide Squad looks alright but I might give it a miss.

I'm really shocked about how completely apathetic I've been about the DCCU. And I'm typically more of a DC person than a Marvel person. It's amazing that they've gotten me to care so little about a Batman movie.

I'd like Ramza's point too, but I don't listen to music.

That's a shame, there are a lot of good parts of the artform, although now I'll probably be called out on enjoying music even though there was plenty of music in Man of Steel.

Really, I love Avengers, but that movie did the BAREST minimum to show that. Also, it's far easier to divvy up tasks when there's six of you. Unless I missed something, Superman was all alone. Sorry, the comparison just doesn't work, the context is too different.

    That's ok. You'll care on March 25.

And as for Avengers 2, don't even go there, Stark creates an AI that goes on a rampage and it's all smiles at the end of the movie, so you have no leg to stand on. "Oh, but they'll fix it next movie!"

    Cap 3

Cap: "STARK! Remember how you created that AI? I actually hate it and you're wrong! It doesn't matter that we were friends at the end of AOU!"

I'm sorry, but I hate people arguing MOS 2.5 years after the fact. If it means that much to you, it must have made an impact and did it's job.

Technically Stark AND Banner created that AI, AFTER SW messed around with Stark's head to make him do it. I hated it in the comics when Stark took the blame for EVERYTHING, even stuff that wasn't (or at least wasn't completely) his fault and I hope that the movies don't do that to.

Ha. No, I don't waste a thought on either of them during the week, but if someone wants to compare them, I'm game. I like Marvel and DC and it's tough to compare because they're so different.

But Superman is close to home because he is my childhood hero, sometimes you just have to comment and respond from the heart.

And I haven't argued against AOU anywhere recently because I know what I'm getting into with those movies. It's lighthearted fun with no consequences. Which is also sort of the problem.

The fact that you actually may be right is more of a commentary on the state of DC films than it is on the bright future.
