Funny in a gay sort of way. And very wimpy. He was R2's b!tch.

I thought C-3PO was as funny as he was in the OT, which was very funny for me, and seemingly not so funny for others.

C-3PO was neither funny nor annoying. Although I must confess that I smiled occasionally at his antics. What is most impressive to me about the loathed droid factory sequence in AOTC, though, is the clever editing and the sheer level of invention and delight.

His jokes were hit and miss to be honest:

    "This is such a drag" - [face_plain]

    "I'm quite beside myself" - :D

I agree. I don't think he was funny all the time, but he surely got some laughs out of me! :)

I would classify Threepio's one-liners as "groaners." I heard them and they make me groan, like I was suffering a stomach cramp.

I thought AOTC had his finest, funniest moments yet. From the hilarious antics in the arena with the switched head [face_laugh], to the uber-groanworthy puns ? best Threepio movie yet! :D

Threepio has always been my favorite character of the saga, so I'll have to disagree with Adam. Attack of the Clones was not Threepio's best movie - that honest goest to Empire. I'll take a legless Threepio, and a Threepio as a comic foil for Han Solo anyday.

That being said, I greatly enjoyed the puns made in the arena, and a majority of the audience seemed too as well. Groan-worthy or not, they are clever.

    :D Mace Windy,
    too windy for spoilers!

I thought he was great in AOTC, as did many in my environment. I remember "die jedi dogs..." being quite popular among some people.

Anyway, I could bare 3PO very well in AOTC, the same goes for TPM. In the OT on the other hand, he's unbearable for me. He's annoying in ANH, even worse in ESB and ROTJ. Does he ever stop talking? There are many moments I really have the feeling of "all right already, just move on to the next scene". Never been a 3PO fan... much more of an R2 fan. ;)

But I have a feeling he'll be quite great in Eps.III.

Threepio hasn't been that great so far in the prequels. He was good on Tatooine, but in the droid factory when the big switch occured between the droid and he, that was just annoying.

"Oh my goodness machines are making machines , how perverse !"

I thought he was great. Much more like the Threepio I knew from the OT, cracking bad puns in the heat of the action.

And as for the comedy 'thunk' as Artoo pulled his head off, heh...first time I've laughed out loud in a cinema for a while.

Threepio's constant loss of dignity always amuses :D

In TPM he never really did anything funny. In AOTC he was terrible! In the OT he was great!

    Ciao!

In the OT I always loved the annoyed reactions from Han and Leia more than I did C3PO himself. In the PT, he is just mugging for the camera and spouting stupid dialogue, which is QUITE annoying.

    LOL, yes he was!

I especially love the pensive battle droid "uh-oh" when it looks down and sees itself attached to 3PO's body, hehe..

I honestly don't see why bad puns are much worse than 3PO breaking the fourth wall to say "how typical!"

He was funny. The big-droid "this is a nightmare" thing was kinda weird but hes funny in the arena.

This scene was wonderful. C3PO perfectly manifests the whole movie pretty much: He turns from diplomacy to war; He gets his head cut off which is beauiful objective correalitive(symbolizing the lack of brains or knowledge the republic, the jedi and anakin has); There are 2 C3PO's which hits the duality issue of the movie; C3PO falling certainly hits the motif of falling in AOTC, which can be taken literal and metaphorical. I love it when C3PO finally gets put back together. He says, "I just had the most horeendous dream." It truly was a nightmare for the republic, anakin and the jedi. or it will be.
I love how c3po tells r2 "you dont know what's out there, you idiot." A beautiful foreshadowing of what is to come to the jedi, republic and anakin; The Jedi, the republic and anakin don't know what is out there, and definatly are idiots in a sense. hehe.
C3PO is great in the movie, especially in the droid factory and the clone war.

I love the word jokes in this movie. "This is such a drag", "Oh, I'm quite beside myself" and "She seems to be on top of things" are classic lines and Threepio stands for 2/3 of them!
