Wat Tambor, head of the Techno Union, cool new character!

He didn't have much screen time in AOTC but I thought this was one of the coolest new characters. With his oddly retro look, this Skakaon charmed audiences everywhere with his audio frequency adjustment,

Wat's adventures are just beginning.
He spends most of his time on Metalorn.
I don't know if he listens to Techno,
but his union's contribution of BattleDroids to the Confederacy of Independent Systems
make him a PLAYA in that galaxy far, far away.

I agree, he was cool

 

In his 'audio adjustment' I had one of the biggest laughs for a long time (the funniest moment of the film, pure slapstick).

Wow that really was funny. I've seen it 3 times and always looked forward to that bit.

The Techno Union...BEEUUUAUUAUBEEEUAPPAPEUAPAPAPEUIIIIIIIAIOOOOOOEEEOEOEOEO is at your disposal, Count.

 

Is it just me, or does it seem like ol' Wat was scrambling to find his adjustment knob when that noise started up. That's what really got me chuckling; he seemed so suprised.

 

Uuugh.

I hated Wat Tambor. I thought he looked like a mutated CGI Lurch. The way he talked annoyed me to high heavens. Oh well. Guess it was just me.

It wasn't just you, I couldn't stand him. The voice adjustment was cringe-inducing I thought! He's even worse then San Hill!

Action figure? Heck, I want Lucas to produce a TV movie just for Wat, like he did for the Ewoks!

Perhaps the line should've been "The Techno Union... REEOREE... is your garbage disposal."

 

After Zam, and Luminara, Wat is my favorite new character.

He was interesting.

How his character was tied to his equipment reminded me of the 'henchmen' to the Guildsmen in Dune (the David Lynch version) - really retro and having to speak through mikes.

I imagine he can't breath human atmosphere, otherwise he'd just be speaking his own language or Basic.

 

Really? I thought someone had just forgot to turn the radio off...so the radio turned itself off in that scene?

 

As soon as he made the audio adjustment, I thought WOW, he speaks through a microphone, kinda like DARTH VADER!

 

That's what I'm talking about Darth Poutine.

 

The audio adjustment was ridiculous. Is he supposed to be a robot or something? Any more screen time and he would have been the new Jar-Jar.

His AOTC appearance is just the beginning.
He's not only gonna be in Episode III,
he's gonna be on Tech TV next week!

Who cares. He was great. He is'nt in the Visual Dictionary, so this is the first I've heard of his name.

In his other scene, walking off screen with Dooku and the gang, I thought it was Dooku talking, as Wat's and Dooku's lines ran into each other. I thought, what the heck is Dooku on when his voiced changed pitch. They do sound similar.

 

Some have theorized that Wat will somehow be involved with the creation of the Vader suit in Episode III. And it struck me as interesting in AOTC that we see a character that cannot breathe on his own and speaks through a microphone. Curious.
