I have a bunch of west coast Avengers comic books and I was wondering whats the difference between these comic books and the normal Avengers comic books? The west coast Avengers have all the same characters so I dont see the difference ?[face_plain] Also, can someone PM or post a link for me to a site that lists all the available Spider-Man comic books(I mean every single one) up to date. Thanks :)

Because if I post something in a thread like that then no one might notice it plus it takes a while(usually) for people to respond to your question.

The West Coast Avengers were simply a branch of second tier Avengers based in San Diego, IIRC. They were led by Hawkeye most of the time. The series lasted til the early 90's til there was once again only one Avengers book.

Um The West Coast Avenger team was first created as an offshot team by the Vision after he took the chairmanship when the original Avenger team was lost in the Secret Wars.

I believe he original roster was, Hawkeye(leader), Mockingbird, Wonderman, Tigra, and i think the Scarlet Witch.

Creating the offshot team was revealed to be a ploy by Vision to take over the world however the team continued to exist until i think the Onslaught saga...

But they always did have different rosters.

lol to be fair the Hulk was only an Avenger for about 3 issues...

They just so happened to be the first three so he is thought to be more instrumental than he really was.

Why did the Hulk leave the Avengers in the first place? I read about it somewhere but I forgot.

Whereas the regular Avengers were based in New York, they were based in California. But when the book went under in '93 (Because of a rift with the regular team),they became Force Works,a team led, supplied, and financed by Iron Man and fought evil proactively. But they went under around the time of Onslaught.

There, all my comic reading from the ninties has paid off.

Um the Hulk basically became uncontrollable and did not work as a team. He didn't so much leave as he was voted out.

Captain America joined the next issue and was voted a founding member taking the Hulk's place.

HEHE the Great Lake Avengers!! SO FUNNY!!

But you should probably call them by there new name, The Thunderrods!

They were renamed after the formation of the Thunderbolts.

    Great Lakes Avengers Roster:

    Big Bertha
    Flat Man
    Dinah Soar
    Doorman
    and their leader! Mr. IMORTAL!

At the end of the Onslaught saga most of the West Cost Avengers threw themselves into Onslaught in order to destroy him. With the roster gone the team fadded away. And it wasn't reformed after the Hero's returned.

Actually If anyone has any questions about Marvel comics in general, Avengers, FF, or X-men they can ask in here. I'll probably be able to answer them.
