After watching ROTS again,I noticed the sudden disapearance of Dooku's lightsaber from Anakin's possesion.
You clearly see Anakin holding it after Palpatine is free, but when he runs to Obi-Wan in the next scene it's missing?
Also when Grevious later captures them,he doesn't take possesion of Dooku's lightsaber either,so I assume this was a continuity error.
Anakin would have kept it as far as I'm concerned,I would have!,considering I had beaten a Sith Master.

Perhaps he doesn't like the idea of stealing from the dead.

Anakin dropped it and I took it =D! Then i glued dooku back together and created Frankendooku O.O!

    *wakes up*

hmmm...Anakin probably just left it back there. It's not like he can do anything with it, considering that it's the saber of a fallen foe who he didn't really care much about x.x. also, he can't it to its full potential due to its cuuurrrved handle ;)!

Continuity error? Not really. He probably discarded it. What use would he have of it? You have to take some initiative with small things like this in any movie.

Character is outside of a house and has his shoes on, is then inside but doesn't? Safe to assume he took them off before he came inside. That sort of thing.

The Jedi have no possessions, and no need for trophies.

Obviously he dropped it on the body or the floor. It's not a "continuity error", look up the meaning of that.

If he didn't have it when fleeing down the hall, then Grevious did take it, that would be an error.

Why would Anakin want the lightsaber of a traitor to the Jedi Order?

Anakin threw it away imediatly. He didn't want to believe he realy killed him, and he later looked upon his act like it was somebody else's. So he didn't want to be reminded of what he did. Anakin felt realy bad about killing Dooku, just like he felt bad about killing the Tuskin Raiders. In retrospect, of course.

The Jedi had no possessions? Well maybe a truely committed Jedi, but Anakin wasn't totally commited,I mean he was breaking the Jedi code by marrying Padme!!And up to that point concealing his marriage.
So keeping Dooku's lightsaber wasn't impossible for Anakin to have done, besides it also would have been proof to other Jedi and the Trade Federation that indeed he had killed/or eliminated the threat to the Rebublic.

He doesn't need proof. He's a Jedi Knight, his word is enough.

There's also the word of a second Jedi Knight. Oh, and the Supreme Chancellor too. And Grevious if it comes to it.

if we'd seen him drop the saber next to dooku's dead body that would have been so cool looking.

Why would he have wanted it? It would have reminded him of killing Dooku, which he knew was wrong (against the Jedi Code).

Count Dooku's aptly shaped lightsaber went on to be incorporated into the construction of the classic Darth Vader. ;)

that's silly, everyone knows they actually used it in the construction of the death star turbo laser dish, without dookus saber, they'd only be able to blow up planets with cable, the death star would get horrible dish reception

did you ever notice in Ace Ventura, the part when they are talking to the main pocher guy. He has a chess set all out and set up, but then a few seconds later the chess table is cleared off?
