What happened to the wolfman!?

Is it my imagination or was there a wolfman character in the cantina sequence of the original version of ANH.

I just watched the special edition, and he isn't there anymore!

Was I just imagining this alien? Or did Lucas take him out of that scene? Why would he do that!?

Anyway, yeah, he was removed for the speical editions.

 

I think GL replaced him because he felt that it looked too much like a guy in a suit, so he replaced it with a more alien-looking CGI character instead...

 

You mean a more CGI-looking CGI alien, right?

 

The new alien is a puppet, not CG.

Yeah, Lucas (nor Rick Baker, for that matter) was never happy with the wolfman mask, which was pretty much pulled directly from the stockroom. So he added in the new puppet in the SEs to replace him.

 

Well, Jabba didn't look "CGI" enough

 

Poor Lak Sivrak. He can't get a break.

Oddly, Satan himself, (Labria, or Kadu Sai Mallock? I forget how to spell it.) never bugged me that much... B7ut the wolfman was just kinda... there.
Mr. Sivrack would've fit in nicely in Dex's 50's diner, but ya just never heard of a wolfman hanging down in ol' Mexico and their cantinas. He and Mantis man were rumored to have a room together with Weequay, Nikto and Barada though (half of you won't get that ).

 

I think its stupid that the wolfman was taken out.

 

Look for a member of the wolfman's species as a jedi knight in the animated 'Clone Wars' cartoon. I saw a couple of pics and a character profile at the official site this past weekend.

 

I just checked the OS. In 'Clone Wars' the character's name is 'Voolvif Monn' (I kid you not.)

 

The Wolfman was a mask PULLED OFF THE SHELF. Surely the movie could not have BENEFITED using a monster who'd already been in other movies and had no business being alongside the original creations!

DLM Edit: Preserving the O-OT is a noble cause, but I'm asking you nicely not to spam numerous threads about it.

 

I have to admit that when I first saw the wolfman in ANH, I thought he looked a little out of place. Then when I saw the Special Edition without him, it just didn't seem right. To me he's a part of the movie even though his screen time is short. I just hope that Lucas heeds the petition at originaltrilogy.com so we'll have the wolfman scene and all of the other parts of the movies the way we are used to seeing them when they come out on DVD.
