Concerning the events Post-NJO, I think that since this is the first obstacle Luke's new brand of Jedi must face, there should be a small interlude of healing, closure, and rest for our war-weary characters. Afterwards I think it would be brilliant to introduce a new brand of Sith, those that don't fight by the conventional methods, but would also be aware of the old Jedi. My thoughts would be to introduce the apprentice to Darth Vader, of course he must have had one in order for the Sith to continue.

    *sob*
why did they have to kill him?
i have this sick, queasy feeling in my stomach.

    Hey DSP,

I had an exact thread about a month ago. I was thinking that maybe for once the NR could have a break from war and there be a little peace time expecially for our favorite heroes.

What I'd like to see is a novel specifically dealing with Leia truly becoming a full-fledged Jedi Knight. I mean either she is or she isn't. It has been avoided for too long and I think it needs to be addressed unless there is a surprise in the NJO concerning her.

I think that a novel devoted to Leia is great idea, but for it to include a ceremony fully inducting her into Luke's Jedi Order would be both useless and unneccessary. We all know she's a very capable force-user. In past novels we as readers have been told what she is and isn't capable of.

I for one would love to see a book based entirely on the process of becoming a jedi knight all the way through becoming a jedi master. This way we could learn about the true ttrials and tribulations the jedi face in order to move up in the ranks make the book over a 30 year period and at least 600 pages.

It does get boring seeing them fight all the time. How about a time of Utopia? What if....peace really existed in the galaxy?

IF you mean literally, then nothing unless a different company takes over. I think the New Jedi Order is just the name of the books by Del Rey since the yin generla feature the New Jedi over the older like Luke. IF you mean the Vong, which is more likely, then I think that There may be some sort of a war between someone, and the Jedi... Jedi vs. Jedi? I dunno though... for all we know, they may end up killing everyone but Luke and Mara and then they'll have to start all over with the creation of Jedi.

The Emperor was not a sith lord once he became emperor. Vader took the title Dark Lord of the Sith. So who was his apprentice?

Are you sure that Vader was not the apprentice. Starwars.com's database says this "Although Palpatine called for the extermination of the Jedi and any Force-sensitives who could conceivably challenge him, he did keep a few loyal agents who were trained in the Force. Darth Vader was chief among them, as his primary lieutenant and Sith apprentice." So was Vader the apprentice or the Master?

I have seen several references to Vader with the title Dark Lord of the Sith.

I think Dark Lord of the Sith is a title seperate from the regular Sith Lord title. Palpatine/Sidious was a Sith Master, but never assumed the title of DLOTS. Vader, his apprentice, did however.

So will fans ever see if Vader had an apprentice? Do readers WANT to see it in first place? Or has this Sith plotline been exhausted?

Hopnestly, what plots out there could be introduced to Star Wars that would be orginal?

About the only thing which hasn't happened yet is time-travel.

I think that the only thing which has not been done is peace--but conflict is what all books must have in order for there to be a plot.

How about a novel with no major characters, and just regular Star Wars galactic citizens?

I think that would be a nice fresh change. Darth Maul did focus on that a little with Lorn Pavan.

    I was just thinking...

LFL and DR are setting themselves to pump out a new series of novels with Ben Skywalker leading a new throng of Jedi into the galaxy.

But of course, how could LFL and DR not continue this cash cow franchise?

I mean yeah it makes sense that Luke and Mara would want to have a kid.... but fans are going to want stories about him and LFL will no doubt be willing to offer.

When will we get tired? Really, there is no reason why these novels could not continue ad infitum, right? The galaxy streaches forever in both the past and the present. There might be novels about Ben Skywalker's kid and the kid after that.

And there is the eighteen/twenty year gap in between Episode III and IV. How many novels can fit in there?

I wonder what LFL would have to say about this...

Now I think of it, I wish they would go back and fill in events fromeariler in the timeline, which they won't do in the NJO. I want more Mara, and when she'd be most active is aroudn the time of immediately after VotF and such. Then She'd be working with Luke

I'm sure that after Episode III comes out that the 20-year gap will fill in. Those are the stories I'm really looking forward to: a perfect mix of the OT and PT. :D

I would love to see a post-NJO novel when the
galaxy is a complete utopia and the Jedi are
travelling across the galaxy preserving peace
and justice in the Republic perhaps even
exploring the Unknown Regions and meeting new
    aliens there.

But of course I would love to see a long
series of novels about the adventures of
Ben Skywalker as a Jedi and piloting "a
starship of strange design" into the far
reaches of the galaxy including the UR.

I hope the first post-NJO book comes out in
    2004(a year after NJO ends).

After the Yuuzhan Vong are defeated, the universe will return to peace and New Repudlic explorers will discover a planet called Earth.

I think that after NJO it will be like Tales
of the Jedi. Jedi will roam the galaxy bringing peace and justice to all the star
systems including the ones in the Unknown
Regions. I hope there will be expeditions
into the UR in post-NJO books.

The only threats will be space pirates and
small civil wars in various parts of the
galaxy and of course criminal orginazations
    like Black Sun.

I got a few theories. One where it is like Star Trek. They go on long range explorations and another is where Tenel Ka and jacen tie the knot and it is about their adventures in the Hapes cluster.
