What happens to all the chocolate bunnies after Easter?

Legend has it, that the chocolate bunnies that aren't eaten or just have their heads bitten off are shipped back from the stores to where they were raised. There, the little chocolate bunnies are put into divisions and forced to march cross country, from Pennsylvania to Arizona.

This trek is referred to by many as the "chocolate trail", named so because the poor little bunnies are forced to walk under a grueling hot sun, following it westward as it crosses the sky. A trail of melting chocolate bunnies.

I'd like to tell you this tale has a happy ending, that the bunnies all end up living in condos outside of Flagstaff. But no, most of them melt away, to be eaten by badgers and opossum or stolen away by marauders in the dessert night.

Well, now I've given you a reason to be depressed when you're not eating chocolate, thereby causing you to eat chocolate, thereby giving a bunny a good home in your tummy. Saving bunnies should make anyone happy, unless you're a sasquatch. The rules are different for sasquatch.

But no, that's just a myth. There is no trail or any such nonsense. The bunnies are given to the Candy Syndicate's alchemist where they are turned into candy corn and aged through terrible magicks so that they appear to be 50 years old or so.

If I wasn't, then it would just be a typo, and where's the fun in a common typo? Unless someone slips up when spelling words like "spit, fork, or itch", in witch case, hilarity should ensue and people should start dancing on the ceiling.

The trail of chocolate bunnies would never make it past Hershey, Pa. There they would stay until called for to be melted down in the factory and become those nice free chocolate bars they hand out at Chocolate World.

 

Their ears and butts get eaten off.
