Now I have read books 1,2,3,5,6,7 of the JA books.

I know that that Younglings that do not get a master before the age of 13 do not become Jedi. And they become farmers. Is that the way its always been done? I was really just wandering if you anyone out there has read, seen or heard anything differnt. So can anyone help me out? PLEASE! I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW AND NEED TO KNOW!

I know in the novel Yoda: Dark Rendevous, there was a youngling who was afraid she would never receive a master, and was under the belief she would be sent to the Agri-Corps because she was a failure. It also applies to those you have an affinity to the Force, but not a strong enough one to be a healer or educator in the Temple. It seems that's the way Yoda has always seen it done, so it must be the case.
    Hope that helps a little.

Ahh, your question is one that has been discussed and hotly debated. WHile that's what JW has written goes on in the GFFA there are many that feel that is a total waste of Jedi potentials.

Personally, I found it a rather bad way to go. The Jedi limit themselves and cut their own numbers by doing that. But then again, this is the Council that couldn't tell a Sith when he smiled in their face.

I can't say I've heard of any other 'cannon' ways, but there's nothing to hold back your imagination.

Usually 13 is the cut off for Jedi Initiates or younglings to be Padawans. They can be taken earlier, I think Qui-Gon took Xanatos when Xanatos was only ten or around then. The ones who are not chosen don't always become farmers. They can work as healers, pilots, mechanics and/or security.
I only know in the Old Jedi Order it was like this, for how long, I do not know.
    I hope that helps!

I've read that depending on where the kids' skills lie is where they go. Majority go to the Agri-Corps but others can go to help the Medical folks on the field (those who go to help planets that have been devastated by either wars or some type of sicknesses), Engineer careers types, and other misc work fields.

Juz the majority are sent to Agri-Corps so that's what we hear the most. I mean think about it... they wouldn't logically send every initiate to Agri-Corps... ;)
