What Invention...would you UNINVENT?

This morning's Parade Magazine had an article that asked that question. The answers ranged from High heeled shoes to automatic answering machines with many in between.

So I ask you the forcers, what inventions would you uninvent?


I would say:

the computer
TV
Cell phone


nothing but trouble

rise of the machines

You don't find it ironic that you would use a computer to type a message on the internet that you would uninvent the computer?

Isn't that like driving an SUV to a "no blood for oil" rally?

I have to STRONGLY disagree with you on un-inventing the computer, cell phones, and TV. The communications horizons that the telecom industry has opened has, and continues, to offer amazing returns to society. And the computer... you're USING a computer right now if you're reading this post.

I would un-invent high fructose corn syrup. No explanation needed. Bad stuff...

I think someone might suggest that nuclear arms should be un-invented, but I would disagree with that assertion as well for numerous reasons. I think their good has outweighed their bad. I may be proven wrong on this one in the future though (looks to Iran).

obviously I am using a computer and do like it, but in the long run,
I do think
technology will be the end of us all.

But I would have to say, my invention would be:

Guns/Gunpowder

 

The computer is undoubtedly the most important invention since the wheel. It's changed the world and made so many unbelievable things happen. We certainly weren't getting into space with an abacus.

As for an invention I would uninvent...hmm...how about the microwave? Mine hates me.

Nuclear bloody weapons.

And they'd STAY uninvented.

 

That, or gasoline-powered cars. I'm sure they would have made an electric car much faster or something, then there would be less pollution and wars in the Middle East.
