Isn't that the left-handed weapon that's in 'Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand'?

    There are 2 different kinds.

Massassi Lanvarok, which is a staff that throws disks(kind of like an atlatl, but doesn't throw spears) at opponents as I recall.

Sith Lanvarok, which is put on the left arm, and shoots razor disks.

    Very violent, and very messy.

There are pictures of the lanvarok, both the Sith and the Massassi varieties, in the Dark Side Sourcebook.

Edit: What made them so dangerous wasn't just the sharp-edged metal disks they lauched, but that the wearer guided the projectiles with the Force.

Ya, that's where I got my information. I was just recalling it by memory. Those same pictures are up at Wizards.com as well, as well as linked to at starwars.com.

Excluding the lightsaber from the pic, I'd fear the Sith sword more than any other weapon in that pic. It's the only one I know for certain can withstand a lightsaber blade.

What is it? Cortosis? Or just imbued with Sith magic or something?

"What made them so dangerous wasn't just the sharp-edged metal disks they lauched, but that the wearer guided the projectiles with the Force."

There was a Imperial Commander in Jedi Outcast, that hunted a wild thernbee with a sith Lanvarok.

I don't know if he was force user or not. But if he wasn't then one could do alot of damage with the weapon without the force.

    "imbued with Sith magic"

    Yes.

Are you sure? Yeah, I heard some stormtrooper in the Lenico Belt stage of Jedi Outcast mention Almanian Thernbees, but I didn't hear any mention of a Sith Lanvarok.

Also, what is this Sithsword, and how is it immune to lightsbare blades.

The "Sithsword" Is a sword used by anceient Sith to fight one another. It is seen in TOTJ. I don't remeber it going aganst a lightsaber but it seemed to be like a lightsaber, it thy have blueish glow around them.

You have not heard the entire dialogue. At www.gamefaqs.com under Jedi Outcast faq section there is an article that list all the stormtrooper quotes in the game, and sith lanvarok was mentioned.

Sith alchemical swords are made through alchemical processes and were imbued with the Force. They were as sharp as lightsabers. According to the Dark Side handbook they can withstand lightsaber strike.

Now why do i have to think of a B-Movie called "Dark Angel" with Dolph Lundgren and Matthias Hueys? Not to mention the Predator-like wrist-blades seen in "Open Seasons".

Where does this appear in JO? I'm sorta replaying the game right now and I've never heard any such quote.

Invid_Clone, check my post above for that answer.

It's after Bespin and that great Tavion duel, in the last part of the Lenico Belt stage before the new stage and you're aboard the Doomgiver. Get past that stretch of zapping ground with those glowing pillars, just up ahead witht at long stretch of rectangular space to your right.

Turn up the speaker volume to hear the stormies conversing, because the background game noise is distractingly loud. They'll blab quite a bit.

yeah, if you stop and hide for a bit you can hear them rattling on about all sorts of things.

I'm usually far too keen to get down the slicing and dicing though!

    edit:

For some reason the one that sticks in my memory goes something like this?

Disciplined voice: Have you ever shot at a live target before?

Slightly less disciplined voice: Yeah dude, I was like, totally the best a blasting wamp rats back home?

Disciplined voice: No! I mean an intelligent target, a target that shots back?

    ?and so on.

    Totally irrelevant I know.

I did that the first time I played Outcast. But when I played again, I took my time, and you'd be amazed at how much Imperial officer and stormtrooper dialogue there is, nattering on about supply delays to bragging talk.

To keep this Literature related, there is a plethora of EU material the game desingers put in. It was impressive. Stormies talk about Almanian Thernbees; speak with words like stang, sithspit, and other expletives; and have Billy Dee Williams's voice for Lando.

Not to mention the Chiss bartender!

"I get you a Ruby Bliels."

Kyle turns aside noncommittally. "Corellian ale . . . in a clean glass."

was that really Billy Dee W?

wow, I just thought it was a rather good impersonator.

Anyway, outcast is starting to hi-jak this thread - I'm off to get me a Ruby!
