What Is An Andalite?

Just so you know, I wasn't trying to answer your question.

 

I like any animal that resembles a centaur.

I remember that show! I had completely forgotten about it until now, I used to watch it everyday after school and I read a few of the books. How come Tobias couldnt become human again?
And there was one Andalite who became a human and wasn't very good at it, funny stuff.

 

The television show was horrible. The books were much better. The show was a terrible adaptation.

The books were also rather violent, especially for a book series aimed towards middle schoolers. The battles were very brutal and involved the Animorphs as deadly animals clawing and ripping people and aliens up and also sustaining horrible injuries themselves. I remember an instance in which the character Marco had a hole kicked in his stomach and described having to hold his guts in.

Tobias could not become a human again because morphing technology had a limit of two hours, and if you remain in morph for longer than two hours you get stuck in it. This is what happened to Tobias, although later in the series he had the ability to morph into his old human form, but the hawk remained his true form.

The Andalite who morphs human is Ax, who created a composite morph from the DNA of the other four Animorphs. He had to become human sometimes to blend in. Whenever Ax was a human it was generally used for comedic effect, as Ax thought he did a good job at passing for human but in fact was quite ridiulous.

 

How do they morph? I always wondered that, I just don't have the time to read another series.

 

The Andalites developed the morphing technology. There is a "morphing cube" which is actually called an Escalfi Device, if I remember right. Once you touch the cube you accquire the ability to morph. In the first book, Elfangor, an Andalite, crashes to Earth as one of two survivors of a space battle (the other being his young brother Ax). Knowing the Yeerk invasion could proceed without problems if he did nothing, Elfangor gave the morphing cube to the five teenagers and gave them the power to morph so that they could fight the Yeerks and hopefully stall them until a new Andalite fleet could arrive.

In order to morph, one who has the morphing power much touch an animal and "accquire" it's DNA. The person can them "morph" into that animal at any time, for a limit of two hours. They morphed a wide variety of creatures, but the main ones were their "battle morphs" and flying morphs which were birds of prey. A lot of the books would feature a mission that would necessitate the acquisition of a new morph in order to help them accomplish some specific task.

I remember the bad guy from the first few episodes looked like Kevin Spacey and those slug things creeped me out. That has got to be the most uncool symbiote ever.
