Obviously with the OT you have the 2 Death Stars and the Executor, but I feel like the PT isn't as defined in that regard. Saw this question pop up on another forum and was curious what the JCF thinks when you hear the word "Prequels" in terms of vehicles. And why?

As much as I wanted to vote for Jango, and the Naboo Starfighter; I had to go with Trade Federation Control Ship. It was just so unique of any Sci-Fi ship. I mean a ship that looks like the planet Saturn.

ARC 170 the moment I saw this thread I thought of it. Not for any particular reason but it means it’s the ship I think of when I think of the PT

I've gone for the N-1 purely because of its recent resurrection as Mando's hot rod. I think that's gonna help cement its iconic status, although it was already a valid choice anyway. As much as I adore it, I do personally prefer other ships, and was tempted to vote for the Droid Control Ship (my favourite capital ship) or the Royal Starship (my favourite mid-sized transport). Also, I feel like The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch have helped make the Republic Gunship a contender, too. And who doesn't love a Venator? Argh, too many awesome ship designs!!

I believe the Trade Federation ship is the only one to appear in all 3 films. However the Invisible Hand definitely gets the most face time. Currently I'm leaning towards the Gunship though, debating between that the Venator.

I voted for the Nubian Royal Yacht. Hadn't seen anything that elegant before in Star Wars.

The N-1 Starfighter, without a doubt. It's simply an icon and likely the most recognizable and well-remembered ship design from this trilogy. Pure, strong and unique, it's easily comparable to the X-wing and the TIE Fighter.

While those sleek Naboo ships are distinctive in the way they helped create a whole new setting in the Star Wars universe, and the Venator grew more and more iconic through gaining exposure in TCW, to me the iconic ship of the PT goes to the Republic Gunships, the good old LAAT/I or whatever designation the EU gave them.

For one thing they probably appear the most through the trilogy. The Jedi starfighters would match that but to show evolution they were altered between movies. The gunships are the primary centrepiece of the big climax in AOTC, a few key moments in ROTS, and huge amounts of repeat appearances in TCW and Bad Batch. They've got a unique sound design to the engines, plus a design that doesn't obviously match designs for something simple like a helicopter. The way they sort of float rather than always move forward is another nice detail, and all the bubble turrets and beam lasers look so awesome when they swoop down from above.

They als represent a new form of ship that wasn't really present in Star Wars before: the heavy transport. There were plenty of capital ships and fighters in the OT, but a mid-range vessel designed for transporting groups of soldiers was something unseen (the U-Wing in Rogue One fills a similar niche for the OT era, or the police craft frequently used in Rebels, as does the First Order lander in TFA).

It's probably due to advancing technology of all things. Seeing the landscape of Geonosis zipping by out the open bay doors was probably much harder to do without digital compositing, same with showing dozens of gunships filled with troops descending onto a conflict.

I always get a kick when I see one turn up, such as in both Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor.

I voted for the N-1, but find AOTC's Naboo Royal Cruiser, TPM's Royal Starship and ROTS's J-type Star Skiff just as iconic. I like the Republic ships as well, but when forced to choose, it would be the Naboo ships because they introduce a totally new look to the saga.

Whoever was responsible for saying, "Let's have the turret decapitate the closest foreground Battle Droid!" is a freakin' genius.

That GIF is single-handedly making me wanna change my vote!

TPM is crawling with iconic designs for vehicles, droids and characters, so it is hard to pick just one from that movie alone. Add the rest of the trilogy and you've got an almost impossible task.
That said, I'll probably stick with my first, instinctive choice.

A big part of me wanted to vote "other" and then champion the Droid Starfighter (a.k.a. Vulture Droid) but my brain is constantly going back and forth on whether it qualifies as an actual spaceship or not. Speaks to the brilliance of the prequels' imagination, that some of its designs blur the lines like that.

The Jedi Starfighters are standout for me.
    Specifically, the Eta-2 Class.

That fact that there were 4 or 5 ships that I felt a little bad choosing the N-1 over really tells you what you need to know about the prequels.

As an iconic image, it has to go to the trade federation control ship. Everyone who’s seen The Phantom Menace can describe it.

The first one that popped into my mind was Republic Gunship. It was a ship that shows the clones in battle, action packed and just cool to see. It also was a usable ship in Battlefront video games, I love flying in it and shooting from those side guns, the sound of it is awesome, it’s just fabulous all around.

There’s so many iconic stand out ships in the prequels. The shine off the Naboo fighters… pre-Xwings…the droid control ship stands out as well. I loved those scenes. Jango’s Slave 1 was cool to me cuz it was before Boba’s green version.

The sequels just don’t have memorable ships like that! So many choices! They are all cool. Lol.

The prequels really benefitted from being released during the golden age of licenced gaming. I loved the fact that, in the years between each episode, I knew I'd get to wallow in the worlds they created, and that included flying the ships for myself. Battle for Naboo, Starfighter, Jedi Starfighter, and the original two Battlefront games helped me feel a lot more connected to many of these gorgeous craft.

the ST had no iconic ships because they were desperate to remind you of the OT every scene.

The Royal Starship. It was a stroke of genius that the main ship in TPM wasn’t simply a Falcon stand-in.

Honorable mention to the Jedi Starfighter in Clones. Great way to repackage the Star Destroyer iconography in an unexpected but symbolically meaningful manner.

I want to give a nod to the pod-racer, it's such a great idea 'cos it evokes a chariot.

but I guess there's too many to have it in the poll.

@gezvader28 Sebulba's pod would've been a tempting poll choice for its staccato engine noise alone.
