What old school actors were Gay?

Or atleast bisexual.

I was just reading up on some old actors and was surprised to find that Cary Grant, Marlon Brando & Laurence Olivier were all bisexual.
Surprising considering how many careers were ruined at the time, but it depends on how well hidden you keep things, in that regard its not changed much. Most leading actors today wouldnt mention it.

 

Cesar Romero was according to NNDB.com at least.

 

I heard once that Ian Mckellen was gay.

 

I was going for more Hollywood Icon types though.

 

James Dean was suspected of being bisexual.

There are other famous examples like Rock Hudson and the dad from the Brady Bunch.

I also just found out that George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek) is gay.

 

Weren't the two male leads from one of Hitchcock's films supposed to be gay? Or was it supposed to be implied that the characters were gay?

I just remember that the shots were very long for stylistic purposes, and the plot involved killing a classmate. Or something.

 

Yeah, it's funny because Carey Grant portrayed Cole Porter in Night & Day, the story of how Cole Porter fell in love with his wife. So, as it turns out, Carey Grant was a bisexual actor playing a straight character who was really gay in real life...

The guy who played Sulu only came out recently. Not that I think Star Trek of all shows would have fired him if they knew he was gay, but it could have had an impact on his other roles.
