Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but what scene in any of the Star Wars movies makes you cry or get emotional? Mine would be 1. When Vader saves Luke from the Emperor in ROTJ 2. The final scene in TLJ when Luke sees the binary sunset 3. The order sixty six scene from ROTS
So many things, Han's Death, Leia's reaction, Rey talking about it in ep. VIII, The scene from TFA when Finn leaves Rey, and when she's talking with Maz, The whole end of Rots, the end of RO, and all the other sad parts,
The ending of Rogue One with the heroes biting the dust gets me, in particular Chirrut's death because of the music and Baze's reaction. Luke and Han's deaths in the sequels. Ahsoka leaving the Order and the death of Fives in TCW are what hit me hardest though.
The end of RotJ when they're holding baby Luke and looking out at the same sunset as he does in ANH. At the time I thought it was the last time I'd see Star Wars in the theater, and it's also such a bittersweet moment for Kenobi while filling us with hope. I have the little homestead and twin suns tattooed (no pun intended lol) on me now.
Anakin/Vader dying. Like, Luke just got his father back, and he's losing him again before they have a chance to even start getting to know each other. Also the end of Rogue One.
Definitely got a bit emotional when Luke talked to Leia at the end of TLJ... And for whatever reason I read the junior novelization of TFA before I saw the movie, but I cried when Han died reading that.
Order 66 and the Immolation Scene. Every year since TFA I've done a complete watch through of everything leading up to the newest release. After watching through all of the TPM, AotC, and TCW, Order 66 and the Immolation scene are just heartbreaking and really drive home the tragedy that the PT really is. They both signify the end of an era, both IRL and in-universe, and I get a sinking feeling every time before watching RotS (it's still my favorite though! )
R1, the Corridor of Chaos. "Take it! Take it!" Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Four Star Wars moments that bring tears to my eyes in no particular order: 1. When Vader dies telling Luke that he was right, because it feels so meaningful for both Luke's journey and Anakin's in the sense that Anakin has found redemption and Luke has redeemed his father. 2.The ending of Rogue One where all the heroes died nobly for a cause they believed in because for Jyn especially she went from a cynic to a self-sacrifice. 3. Qui-Gon's death. Something about the way Qui-Gon reaches out to touch Obi-Wan's face and Obi-Wan cradles him just breaks my heart. Also if Obi-Wan is crying, so I am. 4. The end of the Obi-Wan and Anakin duel in ROTS when Anakin shouts, "I hate you!" and Obi-Wan responds with, "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you." Tears and shivers every time for me.
So these are not “make one cry” scenes but they do produce intense feelings of sadness for me: Chirrut Imwe and K-2SO’s deaths (R1) Jyn and Cassian’s goodbye hug before being enveloped by the explosion (R1) Qi’ra getting caught by Stormtroopers, just before she and Han were about to pass the checkpoint - especially Han’s anguished reaction (Solo) “You were my brother Anakin, I loved you” (ROTS) Anakin saying “you were right about me” after being unmasked (ROTJ) Han Solo killed by Kylo / Ben (TFA) Luke and Leia’s reunion in the Crait bunker (TLJ) Luke’s peaceful passing, in front of the twin suns (TLJ)
The closest I've been to crying was the "Chewie, we're home" Han moment from TFA trailer, that and seeing the Millennium Falcon in TFA for the first time.
The original ending of Return of the the Jedi has done it sometimes. The endings of most of the films seem to do it.
Nothing in the franchise has made me cry, but I was moved when Jyn and Cassian died in RO. I think it was because I didn't expect a SW film to end with everybody dying.
