What should I do for a Halloween Voice Mail recording?

I just changed my house phone's answering machine to my customary Halloween recording, but that got me thinking, I've never done anything with my voice mail for Halloween, and since a lot of people call it now (well, more than 1 person a month, anyway, so I'm doing better than a couple years ago ), it would be cool to have a cool message. And besides, I am bummed because I am doing like *nothing* for Halloween this year, so the least I can do is make a creepy voice mail message, but I dunno what to put.

I don't wanna bother with sound effects or like music and stuff. Any ideas?

Using creepy voice

'You have reached [insert name]'s voice mail. Leave a message and I may get back to you, or might murder you while you sleep, [evil laughter]'


That is my rather naff attempt. My sister's voice mail is awful she elongates very word and it drives me mad!

Hey, I had a thought though. Anyone here remember exactly what the phone message that people who watched the Ring movie got called up with? I could try and do a Samara impression and do that. Maybe.

 

"Hi. You've reached Connemara's voicemail. Please leave a message after the..." *insert scream and crashing noises*

 

Using "you will die in seven days" is somewhat amusing.

 

Here's a good one:

"Greetings. This is [insert name]. I'm afraid no one is alive take your call at the moment, so if you'd like to leave your name and number, I'll get back you you later. Much later. When the night has fallen and the sky is filled with flits, in the height of the storm, so that no one can hear you wretched screams!"

I would like to do somethign cool like that, but I dunno if I'm a good enough voice actress to make it sound good, or it might just come off really lame.

 

It can be used as a word to describe a flittering insect or small avian-esque creature, such as a bat.

I have a recording of that, but its got loads of sound effects and a dischordant orchestra in it.

Okay, I think I know what I'm gonna do now, but I gotta figure out how. I am gonna use one sound effect if I can figure it out. I wanna do like, my normal message, then static then "you will die in 7 days..."

But I gotta figure out how to create the static.
