Really, I used to serve in #futuramaepisodes, #alpha-tv & #jhu, three channels that got pretty large amounts of traffic. This was on DalNet and granted, it's been a good six months since I've signed on, but the whole of DalNet is just dead. What's happened to it, or better yet, where have the great DalNet groups gone now that DalNet is down?

I feel so out of the loop. Damn fast internet.

Come now. Someone up this late is bound to have no life and sign in to mIRC from time to time. Don't tell me I'm alone!

Dalnet got dropped, packetted to its extreme, ddos. All the servers died save two or three, they took out all the hubs. Then they 'came back' after a couple of weeks, with a new rule, -no- warez channels, because there was a rumour that the RIAA did it because they were against mp3 pirating and a lot of channels in DALnet were mp3 channels. I don't know exactly what happened but that's the jist of it, I use undernet, used to use chatnet also(ex-oper there), but CN went bye bye(same reason, ddos)

I haven't used DalNet in ages.
    Since '97.

Back then, I remember connecting to uncc.dal.net because it was the closest server in North Carolina. I chatted a lot in the Newbie/Welcome channels and ended up just vanishing after I had an argument with an Op over something someone said.

    Oh, net drama.
How it'll always be around, no matter what.

It's still around, well, I still have some servers. It's usefull for some things, but they definetly can't be discussed on this board.
