OK i'm sitting at my PC minding my own business when I hear one of the mouse traps go off. They are new and have been there about 2 hours now.

    Do I:

    A) go and investigate a potential mess.

    b) wait a bit for the kicking to stop

    C) go to bed and worry about it in the morning.

    d) run around the house yelling and screaming.

    This is an honest post.

I lived in a flat right beside a smoko shop and there were thousands (literally) of mice, your better off leaving it till morning. Let the little bugger out now and he might recover.

I'm drawn to the potential mess but I don't like killing things and don't particulary want to clean anything up.

i find dead mice are better delay with the next day, as an example

although last time a similar situation on happened to me i went nuts
i went to my bedroom about 1am (this is about 3 years ago)
and a mouse followed me in and hid under my bed, so itotally tore
up my room trying to get rid of it, and then it left, and i blocked the door, cos damm they can fold into small spaces.....next day i went and purchased
a heap of traps, poison and other nasty stuff

Then you are definately better off checking it tomorrow. At least the blood, brains, etc. will have dried and it will come out in one peice. Try it now and yuck! Sticky messy gunk all over the trap.

Tell you what the little buggers are checky. They squeeze into your room at night under the door. I have caught the mice in my room 3 times now. One little bugger got onto my bed while I was asleep. It's revenge now I tell you. We caught 2 mice in 2 days with boxes trapping them in the lounge but enough is enough.

I found poison to be a waste of time. It will kill a few at the start, but they seem to get resistant to it. At my old flat they were eating all the poison I could put out. Thats when I discovered that they don't have any resistance to hammers.

you have to stop up your door, use some books, does the trick, and befriend a cat, plus do some research, they have certain transit points they prefer,

Thats what I had to do. Trap them off I mean. They had a routine to work around the staff at the shop next door. When the staff arrived at 6 in the morning, I'd hear them all scurring through under the back door (my back door was joined to the shop) so I got up really early one morning and nailed a plank to the bottom of the door. TaaDaa not my problem any more!

P.S they don't seem to like the smell of dead mice either!Like an omen for them.

Watch you don't end up with holes in everything. They only need a space equal to the width of their skulls. Less than a ten cent peice!

I don't know if thats the same sort of deterent as the smell of ground mice, but hey you might have genetically altered super intelligent mice, they could understand whats going on.

oh, my cat is a great hunter too, but she is an elitist, see she lives on the farm with my parents, they have wild rabbit, ducks, small birds, and rats in abundence, she doesn't "do" mice :( .....believe me i have tried locking her in the affected rooms for ages, she won't have a bar of it
