What will it be like when George Lucas dies?

Sorry for the morbidness of the topic, but the whole Michael Jackson thing got me thinking about this.

Will SW fans turn out in droves?
Will the prequels suddenly be better thought of?
How much attention will the media pay to it?

 

the world will end.

 

I've thought about that a lot in light of the recent wash of celeb deaths.

In truth, I'd be devastated. I'll say it. I bet it would be almost as big a media circus as MJ's death. Nerds and geeks would unite to hold candlelight vigils. Trekkers would rejoice.

 

Well, at first I'd be like "Holy crap!"

Then I'd wait for all of the noobs to post messages such as "He's now one with the Force!"

 

Alas, sad day!
Never mind, they'll point and laugh, and we'll cut off their pointing fingers with our lightsabers!

 

I would not care if George Lucas dies. I only care about watching star wars at the movies the first time they come out. They don't have that much replay value.

 

Jedi/Sith would become the new Scientology.

It will truly be a sad day for me...Star Wars has been a big part of my life and for the maker of it to die...yes, it will be sad.

 

I think it will be similar to the MJ thing, only the internet will explode moreso than places in RL.

 

Like sey said, it'll be like MJ with the internet exploding.

When GL dies, I won't really care that much. I don't cry over strangers, especially strangers who create SW prequel trilogies.

If the internet crash thing happens, it'll probably hit this site instead of twitter.

Okay I'll give it some more consideration. I would probably think well GL was pretty old, sad yes, whatever actually probably quite sad. I don't know. Maybe the world will get renewed as a plus, which is what I thought after MJs death, butit did seem like a big loss...

 

I will never stop crying. I will be depressed for the rest of my life knowing the man who created my life is dead... Thinking about it makes me cry...

Long live George Lucas.

 

I would be really sad, cause he would die when lots of people already are mad at him for making the PT, I think he deserves the chance to redeem himself!

 

I'm suddenly reminded of the Fanboy/Trekker showdown in Fanboys. Hysterical.

Not EVERYONE hates the PT. Only some people. And besides there is still the awesomeness of the Original Trilogy.

I will be very sad if that happens. But hopefully he will be a very old man and have lived a full life. That would make me happy.

I'm so upset about MJ's death only because he was a genuinely good person and he was treated like ****. On top of that he died way too young and it was very very sudden. I couldn't beleive it at first. Also, MJ had that Cult of PErsonality that made all of his fans love him. BUt yeah he was a really really good person.

So for me personally it will be different. But I'll still be sad of course! We will just have to keep the legacy of George Lucas alive wont we?

 

When George Lucas dies, canon will finally be able to breathe.
