Lit Whatever happened to Guri?

Guri, Xizor's human replica droid blond agent and assassin, she escaped her master's death and was never heard from post 16 ABY?

What does everyone think happened to her?

Would she still be around in LOTF times? Legacy?

 

She and Dash Rendar hooked up in a comic book series where they killed Xizor's niece. She also had all of her evil memory wiped away.

 

Yeah, her story continued in the Shadows of the Empire: Evolution series. There is an omnibus of both SOTE and SOTE:E - you can see it here on Amazon UK.

 

Then they founded an HRD company which experimented with tech reverse-engineered from Ssi-Ruuvi entechment to give people immortality by transplanting their mind and soul into a perfect, strong, HRD body (if they have the cash).

Jaina Solo tried to blow it up in 29 ABY because one of their clients went bad and only Force users are allowed to be superhuman.

By that time Guri was off doing her own thing again without the company, though.

Absolutely serious, though I oversimplify her reasoning a bit. It's more "You aren't careful enough who you provide this service to and are therefore responsible for any of their crimes" (which I disagree with, especially since said bad client was an elected official, not a known criminal) and "This transhuman technology could lead to an immortal Vader or Palpatine, therefore all potential benefits must be ignored." (which I can understand, but consider fairly futile and short-sighted) Also she wanted to capture the current head of the company and put a stop to its activities rather than blow it up.

I still think that's short-sighted of course, trying to put the tech-genie back in the bottle never really works and her threats and generally belligerent approach helped nobody. Stanton Rendar didn't do anything evil in the story, and demonstrated nothing but an earnest desire for what he thought would be a happier galaxy, yet Jaina was fantasizing about revenge and dismantling (murdering) him by the end.

Seeing her and Dash during the NJO series would have been amazing

Guri according to the Insider seems to have founded a human replica droid manufacturing company. Which Jaina went after in 28 ABY.

Thing is not sure if she survived the Vong war-she could pass as human if was in Vong territory.

If she survived the war and abandoned the company I'm not sure where she would go.

Shame she should have at least made a cameo appearance in FOTJ or even Legacy.

There's a bit in the Shadows of the Empire novel where Xizor is looking at Guri walking away and he thinks something like "She looked as good from the back as she did from the front" or something. I ain't even kidding. That particular passage burned into my teenage brain decades ago and never quite left.

 

Not enough. Not enough happened with Guri.

I wish we'd gotten a whole series with Dash Rendar and Guri going on adventures.

 

Has anyone proposed the 'Guri is Snoke' theory yet?

 

She became an alcoholic and her paralyzed sister's cruel caretaker. In the end, her memories reverted to 3 ABY and she occasionally got intimate with reptiles.

 

There were rumors of using her and Dash to develop a plot around the HRDs and Dash's missing and presumed dead brother, Stanton. I just checked the Wook and I don't think they have the details of this right... I think Perry's plan was to bring Stanton back using an HRD body as the host, not just create an HRD that looked like Stanton. The story involved Guri and Dash getting word of the brother.

My suspicion was/is that the later Jaina event took part of that idea and did its own thing, neither overwriting it nor going back enough to explain it.
