As in, I'm from America, so I'm considered an American? I think it would just be 'Naboo'. In TPM, Amidala calls herself "Queen of the Naboo". I'm not 100% certain, though.

    Naboo-
this is the human species which, along with the Gungans, inhabited the planet Naboo. They were descended from colonists from the planet Grizmallt, who arrived at the planet aboard the starships Beneficent Tasia, Constant, and Mother Vima, shortly after the death of Queen Elsinore' den Tasia. Their arrival occurred some 3,900 years before the Battle of Yavin. During much of their existence, the Naboo took great pains to avoid contact with their Gungan neighbors, and were mostly unaware of the huge underwater cities the Gungans built to escape contact. This was the result of a bloody war which was waged several centuries before the Battle of Naboo, in which large portions of both races were killed. However, fringe elements of both species realized that they couldn't survive without the other, and specialized trading relationships were set up. While these relationships were not officially recognized by either government, they were vital to the survival of each species. In general, the Naboo were a peaceful people, and chose to live in harmony with their environment rather than destroy it.

    Hope this helps :)

"We must reach the naboo and contact chancellor valorum." I think that Naboo is the name for them.

Yes, Nubians are from Nubia, but that's not Naboo. The people of Naboo are Naboo. You can also use the term Nabooian to describe the culture. It sounds silly, I know, but it's correct.

Really? I thought I remembered the citizens of Naboo being referred to as Nubians? I think it was in TPM. Of course, it may have been Nabooian. With me, anything is possible. :p

EDIT: Okay, I check the Unofficial guide and this is what it said... "the Naboo were a peaceful people..." They are simply called the Naboo. *smacks self*

In TPM they refer to the Queen's ship as a Nubian something-or-other in Watto's shop. I'm bad with ships, but it's definitely "Nubian"... whatever that actually means.

The ship was called Nubian, but I think that means it was from Nubia.

    They're the Naboo.

I edited my previous post which started the Nubian/Naboo debate.

The people and the planet are both called Naboo. Sorry to create a stir.

No stir created. The fact is that the cultures were closely linked, so it's confusing. The ship was called Nubian because they built the engines, I believe. The Naboo designed it's look, but some of it's components were from Nubia, like the hyperdrive which they needed to replace.

Yes it is Naboo for the adjective. Nubian refers to the type of ship.

The "Nubian Collective" were the ship-builders; nothing more, nothing less.

The Naboo State simply bought this ship for its representants. ;)

Thanks, all! I thought that I remembered that I'd heard them refered to as Nubian and thought "Wait! But that would make them black!" (the ancient greek term for a black person is Nubian, the arabic is Sudani, and the hebrew is Kushi, all of which refer to a person from the area that is now Sudan.)

    This clears it up!
