Not that it's driving me crazy, but I'm curious what some people to do to help ease it ... ?

Rub the sunburnt area with sandpaper. Sacrifice 3 virgins. Pray to Qordon, God of Scissors.

I'm not sure if you can get this over there, but it's one of the best things for sunburns.

    [image=http://www.prozdravi.cz/obrazky/Panthenolpena.jpg]

When we were on a holiday in Croatia for the first time (I was 11), my back got pretty badly sunburnt and I got this sort of allergic reaction all over it (I don't have much skin pigmentation and I sunburn pretty easily). It was itching terribly and I had trouble sleeping at night. One my Mum's friend told her that it helps to rub alcohol into it, so my Mum bought a bottle of vodka and rubbed it onto my back every day. And it really helped. Not only the alcohol provided desinfection, but it also calmed the itching and made my skin feel cooler. :)

Live Yoghurt, sooths the rawness and helps heal the damaged skin.

I got badly burned in Cyprus one year.
It resulted in me getting sunstroke and sunburn.
The burn was so bad that I had blisters on my back for around 2 weeks.
For the first couple of days I couldn't lay on my back and usually ended up sleeping in a cold bath every couple of hours.
    It was not good.
I tried everything to ease the pain and none of the popular stuff worked.
But I got some lotion from a local pharmacist there that worked miracles.
It looked like milk and you sprayed it on. It gave instant relief!
Wish I could send you some right now Kart buddy, it would help alot!
You could always go in a pharmacists and ask for 'Sunburn lotion that looks like milk'. [face_laugh]

Maybe you should check out this site, it may help.

Get a naked girl to rub aloe lotion that's been in the fridge on you, with her breasts. All your sunburn cares will melt away.

    nice imagery...........anyway try this
    it has worked for me

Make a pot of boiling water and steep many tea bags to a very strong tea in a large pot. Add ice until the tea is just slightly warm. Put a bath towel (preferably a brown one, as a white one will probably be "dyed" brown) into the pot and keep turning the towel until it has soaked up all of the tea. Have the sunburned person lie on the floor or bed on top of an old towel to catch drips. Place the wet towel over the sunburned area of the body. Leave the towel on for a half hour for a moderate burn and an hour for a strong burn. The slightly warm tea will actually feel very cool on burned skin, and cold water would be almost painfully too cold on the hot skin. The burned person immediately feels relief from the wet, getting cooler and cooler gradually, with the actual temperature of the skin also cooling.

If the sunburn is not localized to one area, you may want to soak in the tub instead. First, clean the tub with hydrogen peroxide or a small amount of bleach - and be sure to rinse the tub thoroughly. For this bath you will need tons of tea bags. Brew the tea with boiling water until it is very strong, and you can cool this down with half cold water. You should not get in until the water is no longer warm, and be sure to get out when the tea water gets too cold. You will need to either lie down in the tub or have the tub filled high enough to cover all the sunburned areas.

The tannic acid in the tea draws the burn out of the skin and heals it. After just one application, most sunburns are no longer painful and are much less red. However, this treatment will act on the pain but may not prevent peeling.

    happy healing

When space voyages require you to pilot your ship in close proximity to the sun, you can avoid burning the hull by activiating a ZRIV Class IonoProxarZenon Shield, which will block out the suns energy up to 100 miles from the suns surface. Any closer than that and you're asking for trouble. There's a certain safety distance built into the shield, but it'll break up in the 60 foot range, and unless you're flying a Zorxan 64 or a VRZ Class Blartion Warship with DR-45 Calibur HyperAlloy Armor, your ship is going to literally melt up within about twenty seconds. Heck even the Bartion will only last for five minutes at that proximity to the sun. You might have heard stories about thrillseeking adventurers skimming on the surface of the sun for split seconds at hyperlight speeds, don't listen to it. This has only proven to occur two times and there were very special and careful circumstances involved. Anyone who tries it dies, most times before even getting close to the surface, and let me tell you, the two that made it had to get their entire anti-matter drives reworked, and I don't need to tell you how expensive that can be.

well go to the store and buy something solicaine something to that extent, within two hours you can feel the heat beginning to leave literally and to avoid peeling buy some aloe vera. This stuff works wonders. Aloe Vera is from a plant but it works wonders on a sunburn prevents peeling because it helps keep the skin moist, but also it turns into a nice tan.

Well I usually use ice trough a towel, this works but you can only leave it on for an extended amount of time.

Thats interesting about the tea, will have to keep that one in mind.

You also have to be wary of solar flares. Most standard grade shielding systems will prevent solar flare damage from a reasonable distance, but if you are piloting on a close pass by the sun, it is possible that a flare can fry your navigation system. Heck, major flares have been known to cause hull damage.

This may sound wierd but, pudding helps.

As in rub it on the sunburn, not eat it.

    In all seriousness, try

    APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

it really works and helps soothe the skin. True you might smell like a salad, but after getting the worse sun/snow burn in my life I tried EVERY remedy, Aloe, lotions, potions, but only the APPLE CIDER VINEGAR worked.

Get a washcloth, towel/cotton ball and apply the apple cider vinegar. it works!!!

    EUREKA!
