Whats with the blatantly Chiss bartender in Jedi Outcast??? Anyone???

Whats with the blatantly Chiss bartender in JK II?? My friend who's not a big SW buff read TTT and knows all about Thrawn, and i told him a little bit about the Chiss. So he gets to the bar before me and calls me up and says "Whats with the Thrawn-like bartender?"

Well? Valiento? Anyone?

 

What, don't you think Chiss outside the UR have a right to earn a living like everyone else?

 

Hmmm...just a Chiss I guess. A bunch of them are living in the known galaxy, though they are rare. Remember Spiker from SotE?

All of the Chiss end up "slumming" when they leave the UR - Spiker, Capt. Swagg, Thrawn...

I mean, heck, I'd much rather be bartending than hunting Gungans on Naboo.

There were stills of that scene out months ago, and we chalked it up to "lighting" of the room. However, IMO I actually think it is blatantly a Chiss.

 

Spiker was from SotE? Where? I knew he was from something else (I vaguely remember seeing him, or someone like him, on the cover of "The Jabba Tape", I think) but I didn't know it was SotE. I know he's in one of the SW Tales, um, tales. Issue #5, I think. The DarkTrooper story.

 

Yep, he's in the SotE comic book...and the Jabba Tape and Tales # 4.

 

Hm, alright, cool. Never noticed him in the SotE comic (because I didn't recall him from the Perry novel). Where is he? Is it a cameo, or is he mentioned by name?

 

Nope, by name. He's a fairly major character...at least in the swoop bike gang sequences.

 

He was the Jerry Lewis of his homeworld and thus, he was kicked out of the unknown regions.

Not to sidetrack the topic (much..) but what's "The Jabba Tape" about? Is it worth picking up?

 

BTW, in multiplay, the skin for the bartender is used if you play as a Chiss, so he is a Chiss, no doubts there...

The Jabba Tape was a four part mini series Dark Horse did for the old Topps Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, and if memory serves, it ended after the magaizne changed to Star Wars Galaxy Collector. I believe DH collected all four parts in a one shot comic. It's basically about Bigg Jizz(is the name right?), the swoopie leader, and Spiker deciding to go into buisness as smugglers and taking one of Jabba's ships. Only problem is, Jabba's will has been read and one of his relatives is upset with what he got and want's what's on the ship. Plus Jabba insured know one would take the ship without his permission, so he left behind a program tape in the ships computer to basically take control of the ship incase it was stolen. It's a fairly intresting comic.

 

He also annoying curls his s's, it would have been cool if he talked all cool like I think Thrawn would have.

All this to leave the most high planet of Csilla and it's coloneys are either exiled for disobedience or for learning and mental disabilities, like Spiker

 

Curling the S's is what got him kicked off to begin with. It might be the equivalent of saying 'uck' after every word. Eventually you're going to say the wrong thing.

He's a Chiss. In Jedi Outcast. That tends bar. I here he makes a mean Black Corellian.

 

Thrawn can be heard in tiefighter cd-rom, and soldier for the empire audio drama. As I recall his voice has been fairly consistant.

 

And how does he sound?

In other words, the tone I try to use when I tell my girlfriend she is to limit her drinks to single digits and not get alcohol poisoning or I swear to God I'll call her the next morning and start whistling

 

i've been too busy actually playing JK II to pay any attention to this thread.


To me, the bartender kinda looked like a CG rendering of the TIE Fighter version of Thrawn. Does anyone agree?
