PT When Anakin was becoming a cyborg, did his mechanical hand get replaced with a new one?

Right at the beginning of this video , you can see that his mechanical hand got damaged after he got caught on fire. So it would make sense to replace it.

There's an inside view of vader's armor here.
The hand looks the same to me,but it could be an identical replacement.

I could have sworn I read in a source at one point that Anakin's mechanical hand was replaced.

I don’t think the hand was damaged in that scene.

But yeah, I don’t doubt he had it replaced and modified every so often.

It appeared to be damaged, at least a little but was his only intact limb, ironically.

Looks the same to me. The black coverings with gold metal underneath is identical to what Anakin wore during the rest of the film. I'm sure the EU stories had Vader losing arms left and right, but as far as the films are concerned, Anakin only changes his right arm between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith (rebuilt right before the Battle of Coruscant).

For all his evil traits and tendencies, the one good thing Palpatine did was recycle and reuse. So in an effort to promote healthy recycling practices across the galaxy, Palpatine cleaned up and reused the robotic arm when Anakin suited up. [face_laugh][face_laugh]

Depends on the the current canon status of the micro series that Genndy Tartakovsky made between AOTC and ROTS

If this is still canon then he got a new one. If not than he just likelg upgraded it.

Something I can't help but notice that scene, in the wide shot where the mask is being lowered, Anakin's neck and chin is uncovered, but in the close up where the mask is put in place, the bit that covers the neck and chin is there, and the mask slots into it.

I assume the robot hand was replaced, notwithstanding the fact that it seems to function to claw his way up from the molten stream. Apart from that arm the prequel films have Anakin becoming a cyborg all at once, and as a result of one event. I somehow imagined more of a gradual process, accounting for the regretful line 'he's more machine now than man'. However I recently read a good alternative explanation for that line. Vader is not merely machine-like on account of his cyborg prosthetics, but because he now only does the will of his master. He is the emperor's tool from the moment of his submission until his final rebelion.
