If you flip it over it becomes sunny side up and ceases to be a fried egg.

I turn them over once for over easy.

For fried, I break the yolk, when it gets a crunchy edge, I turn it over to kill the other side.

For omelettes, I turn it over once, then fill one side, flip other side over to cover, then flip again to ensure cheese melts.

For scrambled, it gets stirred and flipped over.

For hard boiled, the ole egg gets rolled over at least once for even hard boiling.

Turning it over brings you into a whole other genre of eggs. I affectionately and appropriately call it the over- family.

    Over-easy
    Over-medium
    Over-hard

There's a lot of debate over whether this is a sub-group of fried eggs, or if it's a group all its own.

I hate it when my mom turns it over...it loses its taste for me and there is less gooey stuff...I know that eggs need to be cooked throughly but if they don't taste good I can't eat them...

Botulism is a small price to pay for a good egg...

Can't say as I've ever actually cooked eggs, but when cooking, just do what you want to do. If you want to flip them, you go right ahead and flip them. If it doesn't taste good, don't do it the next time. There's no reason not to do what you really want to. It's only cooking.

    Amazing.

    Exactly!

I like my yokes runny so I never flip them.

But I only eat poached eggs now.

    don't like them snotty.

for sunny side up, I usually put a lid over the pan for about 15 seconds to cook the surface goo, so it doesn't look/act "snotty". :D :D :D

Not unless you want your eggs sunny side up, or in english, the bottom is cooked the top is raw.

also love soft boiled with a pad of butter on top, then I chop up the egg, so the whites are cooked, and the yolk is runny, but not snotty.

The olny kind of eggs I know are: hard boiled, fried, and scrambled. That's good enough for me.

Omletes are ok, but I mean I was just making a personal statement about the maid and butler thing.
