Discussions When was Qui-Gon Jinn trained by the whills?

Wow, *looks around,* I haven't been around here in awhile. I wasn't quite sure where to ask this at, as it is a question that encompasses different kinds of media. I will start with a theory, I theorize that the Force priestesses in the Clone Wars that Yoda meets in season 6 and the Whills are the same. The Shaman of the Whills being the head priestess that Yoda talks with the most. Or the Shaman is the convergence of them all. Supposedly they taught this force technique to Qui-Gon, but as Qui-Gon says, "his training was incomplete." That has perplexed me for quite some time. When was he learning from them? How was he learning from them? Can a Force User learn from whills after death? Does anyone know of any information that would make sense of this?

 

In the time leading up to TPM. When he wasn't doing stuff that the council assigned him, he trained with the Whills. He wasn't aware that his assignment to resolve the Trade Federation blockade would be his last.

 

Not that I know of. The EU left it pretty blank, though we did see Anakin being offered "the secret" from Obi-Wan immediately after death, in The Life & Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Rise & Fall of Darth Vader - both by the same author - Ryder Windham. There's a strong implication that his consciousness won't last long after death, so he must listen and learn immediately.

 

Windham was going by the first draft ROTJ screenplay, where Obi-Wan tells Luke that if someone dies on the light side, their spirit can be intercepted by Force Ghosts.

 

Did Qui-Gon go to the Whills or did they come to him, for his lessons? Does it say how he discovered them?
