Now that TROS has been out for a little more than year. I was wondering when will DelRey publish novels set after TROS with the further adventures of Rey,Finn and Poe? How about a Zahn/Thrawn like trilogy set 3-5 years after The Rise of Skywalker dealing with Rey and Co.'s battles with the remnants of the First Order and Rey starting to rebuild the Jedi Order starting sometime in 2022? There could be still movies set after TROS like Patty Jenkins' upcoming Rogue Squadron since that will be set in a future era of the galaxy. But I would like to see post-TROS books or films with Rey and co. in the near future battling First Order warlords and their rogue warships or even the Grysk in future books or films.

I know there was a comic book about a post-TROS story with Rey,Finn and Poe. But I want to see more comics and epic novel trilogies about Rey,Finn and Poe's adventures against the Remnants of the First Order with their rogue warlords and warships like the remnnats of the empire in the Legends original Star Wars EU post-ROTJ. And/or in the future a Grysk/Yuuzhan Vong invasion like book arc with Rey and co. battling the Grysk in the darkest depths of the Unknown Regions unless that could be saved for future SW films or Episodes X-XII. Chuck Wendig who did the Aftermath Trilogy could return to write a trilogy of hardcover novels with Rey,Finn,Poe,Rose etc. battle numerous FIrst Order remnant fleets in the Outer RIm/Wild Space or Unknown Regions.

So I guess this is the same problem the old EU had? Trying to come up with an enemy worthy of our protagonists' time?

No one other than Zahn is ever going to use the Grysk, who aren't even very interesting.

Will the Grysk be in feature films like Patty Jenkins' upcoming Rogue Squadron for Christmas 2023? I really hope so .I hope Rogue Squadron will be the first in a trilogy or series of films with Rogue Squadron fighting the remnants of the First Order or the Grysk/Vong or RS team up with the FO remnants to fight the Grysk in RS or tie into the other SW films coming in 2025 and 2027 like Taiki Wattiti's SW film or Kevin Feige's SW film. Will any of these upcoming SW films including Rogue Squadron reference or feature Rey's New Jedi Order? Rey's Jedi Order should have a major role to play in future SW post-TROS novels. I also hope after Zahn does his Thrawn Ascendency trilogy maybe he'll do a post-TROS Thrawn trilogy with Thrawn,Rey,Finn,Poe fighting the Grysk in the Unknown Regions and beyond or the Grysk finally invading the GFFA including the Outer RIm,Core Worlds and Wild Space. But the first Rey/Finn/Poe Post-TROS novel or first in a trilogy is a must for sometime in 2022/2023.

The only time we'll get any post Rise of Skywalker content is when the unnecessary hate finally dies down. So give it between 10 to 40 years.

I give it 1 year. TROS made a profit. People would like to pick up the story of Rey,Finn and Poe. TROS didn't answer or wrap up all the loose ends. There needs to be another trilogy set after TROS with Rey as a Jedi Master either a film trilogy or a book trilogy. There could be a book trilogy about Rey and co. fighting the remains of the First Order and Rey beginning to restore the New Jedi Order and then a film trilogy about Rey's Jedi Order fighting the Grysk or the Vong or maybe even the Killiks from the Dark Nest Trilogy by Troy Denning like The Swarm War but with Rey,Finn and Poe instead of Luke,Han and Leia like in Legends.

I give it a lot longer than that since they won't want to tread on toes about potential movies/shows, and the cast don't want to come back so it's a non-starter.

It does seem inevitable that this time period will be explored eventually, given enough time.

Not sure when that will happen though. Honestly might be a while, since the drive seems focused on High Republic now, and some Post-Endor and Dark Times content.

In particular, the Post-Endor bits of fighting imperial remnants seems kind of close to a hypothetical post-Exogal fighting first order remnants story for them both to be on at the same time.

Finally, we still don't know what the upcoming movies are going to be about and any of them might be set in this era, so they might want to avoid the time period for the foreseeable future, similar to how they avoided the Clone Wars for decades until the prequels got made.

Yeah, I figure it will have to be a pretty deliberate choice, with a fairly clear way forward, before this starts -- if anything, a lot of the blanks that led to some of the stuff in the ST will be filled in first. I don't think there's much call for "here's a random adventure that Rey or Finn had a few weeks later mopping up Final Order holdouts our some pirates just being jerks". Both narratively and character-wise there would have to be some reason to go forward. It's kind of the difference between when the original Marvel Star Wars had to just keep going after after ROTJ, just kind of stumbling around with no real conflict, and then years later when the Thrawn trilogy hit the ground with an actual arc to explore and new developments for all the characters.

But I would love to see a Thrawn trilogy-like book series with Rey,Finn and Poe post-TROS fighting Thrawn or some First Order warlords trying to rebuild the First Order to confront an even larger threat like the Grysk in future book series or film trilogies. Again it could be written by Chuck Wendig who wrote the Aftermath trilogy to write the first post-TROS trilogy. If we already got our first Post-TROS comic a while back. When will we get out first Post-TROS hardcover novel or hardcover or paperback trilogy with the further adventures of Rey,Finn,Poe,Rose or even Lando and Jannah fighting First Order remnants or the Grysk or the Vong or any new threat to the GFFA?

Frankly, i wonder if the Grysk will still be around by then. If they appear, I imagine they are going to be in a book (or book series) about what Thrawn (and possibly Ezra) got up into the Unknown Regions during the gap between Rebels and the Ahoska show.

And even if they don't appear then, presumably they would have wiped out or at least weakened by the First Order during its Unknown Regions expansion.

I thought the Grysk were supposed to be the post-Episode 9/TROS enemy. If not will the First Order remnants return to the Unknown Regions and team up with other alien races like the Ssi-Ruuk or the Grysk or the Vong or even the Killiks or even the Chiss and take on the Resistance in a post-TROS book trilogy? The Grysk were supposed to be a strong alien race like the Yuuzhan Vong to even take on the First Order or FO remnants or even the Empire or Rebellion/Resistance and invade the GFFA post-Episode 9/TROS. I hope this happens in a future book trilogy set 5-10 years after TROS with an older Rey and co. I wonder if the first post-TROS novel if there won't be a Rey/Finn/Poe post-TROS trilogy will be the novelization of Rogue Squadron come 2023 since that will be set in a future era of the galaxy.

As has been been pointed out, so far the Grysk have only been mentioned in Zahn's Thrawn books - if they were going to be the new big bads, I would think that there were would be references to them being seeded in other stories, like how we got a lot of stuff referencing or hinting at the high republic era before the high republic material actually released.

Plus, those Thrawn books are all set before the OT, which would be an odd place to introduce the post-ST era big bads. Particularly since there is clearly a lot that happens in that region of space between those time periods.

As for the FO teaming up with aliens...seems unlikely, they seem a very human-first organization, and their Unknown Region activities presumably would have brought them into conflict with other groups there. But then again, war and politics make for strange bedfellows, and even the nazis had non-white allies.

I mean, I suppose it is technically possible...but then again it is also possible for them to use the Vong, the Ssi-Ruuk, the Yevetha, the Nagai, the Tof, the Hiromi, Mnggal-mnggal, the Darkstryder, or the Third-space aliens. It usually seems like when Star Wars does an alien invasion story, they like to make up new aliens rather than using some group mentioned before.

Frankly, there isn't anything solid to base speculations on for what comes next. I am not even sure there will be FO remnants - not like they were anywhere near the size of the empire so perhaps the rebellions at the end of RoSW got them all. As such anything is possible.

As an aside, I would love it if this era got a jedi academy style game about Rey's school.

Websites like Screenrant or CBR.COM have been speculating there could be First Order Remnants or even the Grysk being a post-Episode 9 enemy. So there is some speculation from ROTJ that even though Vader and the Emporer were defeated the Empire fought on for years in the oriignal EU and a year then became the First Order by TFA. So even though the Emporer and a lot of major ships were destroyed. There's still a lost of mopping up to do to defeat the remnants of the First Order. So I think there will be FO remnants in future novels or future films.

But they got me excited about the possibility of FO remnants and a Grysk Invasion in a possible Episode X or any future SW projects. Books/Comics or Films. But it's true that just because you wiped out the leaders of the Empire or the First Order. Remnants will survive to fight another day. And there's nothing wrong in hoping they will show up in future novels or films.

Depends. Sometimes the Falcon 007 Classic goes on for a few pages, other times just one or two and occasionally a mod just shuts it down immediately.

Thought this would be a good topic. Because I really like the ST era as much as the OT era. Personally I miss the old Legends EU. I just wanted to know if anybody besides me wanted to get Post-The Rise of Skywalker novels with Rey,Finn and Poe against new enemies.

Maybe if I should make 700 threads called "Will James Luceno Write A Post-Phantom Menace Through Rise Of Skywalker Book About Palpatine In The Vein Of Darth Plagueis Continuing To Show Palpatine's Manipulations Including The Clone And Galactic Civil Wars All The Way Through To The Final Order On Exegol Culminating In The Events Of Rise Of Skywalker Much Like The Latter Part Of Darth Plagueis Overlapped The Phantom Menace"
