I found mine at walmart for 14 dollars.

I wouldn't suggest looking on ebay. Who knows if the footwear is comfortable until you recieve it? No on wants to walk or stand around in uncomfortable shoes.

Go to a saddlery shop, they're bound to have knee high boots.

I got mine a zappos.com, Doc's for $45. Free shipping (and return if you don't like 'em). However mine were lady's boots and on sale for like 75% off.
I tried looking around the malls at places like Dillards Macys Nieman but they were all saying that they haven't gotten many boots in yet this season "check back later". And I wanted time to break mine in.
    check out my 45 doc's

My husband uses Biker style boots we picked up for around $45 at Walmart. If your in the midwest then Meijer may have something you like as well (I don't think that store is outside the midwest).

Well I would have to say at the present time to check on some boots that I saw at Hot Topic. The are only about half way to the knee but they look really awesome. They are black and do not have laces (which is good). So you might want to check out your local one or go to their website hottopic.com. They kinda look like they are armidillo plated. Thats the best analogy I have. And the best part is they only run 20 dollars. I am getting some just to have on hand for future costumes like sith or smuggler something like that.

Either that or you can always go on ebay where I found my Jedi boots. 85 dollars but they are almost exactly like Obi-Wans from Episode II. But that always depends on a lot of luck, and a fast computer.

I agree with the Hot Topic boots - i saw them up close (1 of our members bought a pair) and they are real nice - especially for the price.

I know I have custom boots on the way - but to get me by I used a set of black Military Duty Boots and a set of shin pads for my field Jedi costume - the boots are real comfortable and can be worn for other things besides your costume

You didn't say if you wanted generic Jedi boots or a specific character.

Myself, I went with el cheapo riding boots made by Cadett. They aren't leather, but they do the job and look decent enough.

I even added a bit of decoration to make them a little less plain, but made it so the extra can be easily removed. That way I can use them as Imperial Officer boots, or X-Wing pilot boots when the time comes.

They cost less than $50 CDN at most tack shops, and is probably the least expensive option for that style of boot.

I am experimenting with cutting out pieces of vinyl and gluing them onto an old pair of shoes. I am not there yet but I think I can see the end of the tunnel. I will post the pattern when I'm done, within a week or two.

I got some boots from Hot Topic a couple years ago. I was not happy with the quality. I'm sure not all of them fall into that catagory. No matter were you go, look at the quality, even for cheap ones you want them to last.

Yes, I agree about Cadett boots, they'd be very similar to Cottage Craft... what I have. I love them. This site has extremely fast shipping.

last year i went to walmart *just in case* they would have suitable boots, and they did! they're perfect and were $15-$20. it's not even a super walmart, so i was surprised our "smaller" store had it. give that a try!

uh...hot topic boots are ok, but vinyl makes your feet sweat and it tears easy. also, the clunkyness looks kinda bad with a jedi costume - have a pair of the buckle boots from HT and i threw them on once for a quick run so i didn't have to lace up my other boots and they looked like bonified crap.

ebay's a good place if you're careful. course you can't know 100% if they're good quality but you can ask questions, check the sellers background, and you'll get them a lot cheeper than buying new if you want actual leather riding boots - which is esentially what jedi boots are for the most part. i recently bought a pair of leather riding boots off ebay (twenty bucks total) for my aurra sing costume and they're exactly how the seller described and very comfortable. course i'm not naiive enough to believe that all sellers there are honest but if you're careful you can find some really good deals there. it's worth a shot.

a very wise man once said "kid, ya can do anything ya want, but first ya gotta have a good pair of boots" and since space marine boots are not available, i went and had a pair of jedi boots made to my specs. as a large guy with large legs [calfs] it was almost impossible to get some off the shelf anywhere. my bootmaker made mine to fit, with a zipper up the side. check your area and im sure there is a bootmaker somewhere about. its worth it, these boots will outlive me. very comfortable since they make them to fit your feet.

"I agree with the Hot Topic boots - i saw them up close (1 of our members bought a pair) and they are real nice - especially for the price. "

hmm good to know. I still got to get me some. The Jedi boots that I have (and have described above) look really good but they are really small and it hurts to wear them for a whole day let alone a whole 3 day con. Thats the main reason that I want to get the Hot Topic boots, just so I have something to wear that doesn't involve pulling my feet off, and tons of baby powder (ya get the picture).

Also I am not really the horse riding boot kinda guy I lean more toward the "clunkiness" of Hot Topic esce boots. My good friend, and regular Hot Topic shopper bought a pair of buckeld boots, that also have laces and he likes em a lot. He also wears them every day and they haven't worn at all. They also are very comfortable and seem to be good quality. The only thing that I dont like about the ones that I want now is the zipper on the side. Other than that they look really good. Now just to get some money.

Oh, and one more thing all you girls out their consider yourselves VERY lucky. It is so easy to find Jedi boots for girls. I accompanied some girls from my school to the mall the other day and I was amazed at how many of the stores carried almost exact Jedi Boots (before that I had never set foot inside Ambercrombie, AE and such places that I hope to never go inside again). I even saw some that were identical to the kind Aayla secura has.

I don't know about good, but I found a rubber pair for like $15 at the store. Put some "flair" on them and they worked pretty well. It worked great as a last-second find.

Here is a picture of my home made Jedi boot, from a recent convention in Sweden:
    [image=http://www.bahnhof.se/~misagon/starwars/jediboot.jpg]
Each boot is made of three pieces of thin vinyl glued onto an old shoe, plus straps. The non-covereed parts of each shoe is painted with acrylic/latex. (the latex is there so that it doesn't crack) It is supposed to resemble Obi-Wan's boot.
The most expensive part was the buckles for the straps, (not counting the shoes.. but they should have been thrown away). The vinyl cost me $10, but I was left with some to spare to make belt pouches from.

There was a guy at Dragon*Con who had a pair of rockin' boots built from a basic pair of men's boots (like cowboy boots, but with a rounded toe and lower heel) and scraps of leather stitched to the shaft of the boot to add height and texture.

I didn't get to ask him if he made them himself or had a pro do the stitching for him, but they were very, very cool. I'd love a pair like that.

My boots are Mountain Horse High Riders that I actually bought to ride my horse in. They cost about $160 and come in black or brown (brown only for women's sizes), are very comfortable, durable, and look--to me at least--a lot more like jedi boots than show riding boots or the vinyl ones do. They've got a good lug sole and are built for walking in--as opposed to show boots, which are built to look nice while in the saddle. I see jedi in show boots and I just can't get past the equestrian in me. :)

If anyone would like a URL or pictures, drop me a line.

I don't have any sources to add for getting Jedi-style boots, just a suggestion for you all to learn from my mistake: I work at TRU and last weekend we had a "pre-Halloween" party and we were allowed to wear costumes to work. Of course, guess what I wore- my Jedi garb...lightsabre and all. Anyway, I had gotten a pair of Dingo boots from a friend of mine last year that went great with my particular outfit. I've only worn these things once, and only for a couple hours. They were already worn in and broken in by my friend, so I figured I didn't need to wear them a whole lot. I've been used to wearing other types of boots for years and have worked in boots at other places as well. However, I now have a big nasty blister on my heel from 8 hours of those things rubbing me the wrong way!!

WHATEVER YOU GET, MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE ENOUGH FOR YOU TO WALK AROUND IN!
All this time I've been thinking my Jedi garb was complete and have been making plans to go to San Diego ComicCon next year, but I'm not about to try that in those boots, nosiree!! 0.0
