I was just wondering this, because I was at a Dollar General store today and got my brother previously-viewed Blu-Ray copies of The Dark Knight and Star Trek '09 for Christmas (He and his wife just got a Blu-ray player, and I thought what the hell).

It's one of those things I often think about, but have never really sought out the answer to. I've always figured it was part stock from video stores that went out of business, part old Netflix/Redbox copies, and/or part copies people have turned in online (I know I've done that with some DVDs at Amazon.com).

    Anybody have any better answers?

they come from heaven. god makes them. then he watches each and every one to make sure it is perfect. thankfully god exists outside our perception of space-time and can watch tango and cash 43,000 times in what we would consider less than a nanosecond. nevertheless, this is still what god is doing literally all the time.

A factory in China or Mexico where some 9 year old is paid 3 cents per hour to make copies of the discs from the master copy. They are chained to the floor and are given 5 minutes per day to use the restroom and another 5 minutes per day to eat. They work for 12 hours a day 6 days a week and are often beaten if the discs aren't perfect.

As for the previously viewed discs, probably the same places you mentioned. As long as they work, they're probably deemed fit for sale and distribution.

The Chinese kids have to watch each DVD after making them to have them certified as previously viewed. But they usually cut corners by skipping through the chapters real quick. Hell, some of them merely look at the menu for a few seconds.

they are created from spaghetti. first, the spaghetti is cooked and seasoned. the spicy meatballs and marinara sauce are prepared alongside and are later added and well mixed. the completed spaghetti dish is then forced through a specially made wringer and is transformed into a paste. this paste is shaped into the proper size and then undergoes a top-secret process that turns it into a dvd (no, i cannot elaborate further on this). then, a hand-picked team of dark elves are brought into the room, and using high-level sorcery, conjure up the desired contents and burn them onto the dvd. after this process is complete, the dvd is tested in a standard player. hence, previously viewed.

Yeah, I'm pretty they're bought from retailers and rental places that were already selling them used, and they grab a garbage bag and go in and buy a ton of them, and them mark up the price on them for a profit in their own shops.

Next question: Where does Florida's Natural Brand Orange Juice come from?

What location on Earth and what fruit, I mean.
