where is Treat Williams in ESB?

Apparently, Treat Williams has two small uncredited roles in ESB, most-likely non-speaking "just standing there" parts. Anybody know where he is?

He's listed as "Jess Allashane (Echo Base Trooper)" and "Jerrol Blendin (Cloud City Trooper)."

 

Anybody know? I thought for sure, with as many knowledgable people on here, that at least one person might know.

 

I don't know about this Jess character... but Jerrol Blendin is one of the Cloud City Troopers who comes in with Lando when he visits Han in jail.

I knew Treat Williams was in ESB, but since I wouldn't know him if he jumped up and bit me on the arse, I never really bothered looking

Hmmm. I just checked that scene out. It must be the second guard who ends up in the shadows for the whole scene, the one who pulls the blaster on Chewie to stop him. The other guard (who whacks Han with the blaster) doesn't look anything like Treat Williams.

Treat is such a good actor, he's awesome on the show "Everwood"...not meaning to get off topic.

Neither of those looks like him. The Cloud City guard is move visible in the film, but like I said, it doesn't look like him.

And that Jeroen Webb picture at http://www.geocities.com/karloff3/Autograph/treat_williams.htm is most definitely not him, either.

So perhaps by some chance there's an English actor with the same name, since ESB was filmed in England, because two Treat Williamses could not exist in the Screen Actors Guild.

 

It is the same Treat Williams I believe.
I think I read about it an article about 'famous actors in real small roles'.
Also, lots of Internet sites say it was. (not that we should trust the Internet for everything)

I think the info on which Bespin gaurd he is could be wrong, that looks nothing like him. The Hoth soldier does kind of though.

 

Okay. I spent some time yesterday, and I cannot visually spot Treat Williams anywhere in ESB.

However, I just discovered something interesting. In the book STAR WARS: THE ACTION FIGURE ARCHIVE by Stephen J. Sansweet, there's a still photo on page 99 of Lobot and three Cloud City guards. The guard to Lobot's right looks very much like Williams, and he has a beard and mustache. (I've seen him enough times in movies to feel confident that it is him in the picture, and even my parents agree that it is.)

I couldn't spot any bearded/mustached guards in the film, so perhaps he was in a scene that was cut from the film print. As for his Hoth trooper role, perhaps he's just hidden under battle gear out in the trenches.

One of the reasons why he may be uncredited is because he isn't shown onscreen.

These autographed cards might suggest that we don't actually see him.

If he was one of the guards in the cell, he's probably the one in the dark. Otherwise, there are a few scenes where we don't see all the faces of the guards.

Oh well.

 

The better question is where's Cliff Claven of Cheers fame? I'm always wondered.

Yup, that's Cliff himself right there. I had no idea where he was until somebody finally pointed him out to me.

It may not look like him at first, but if you're familiar enough with him, you should be able to tell it's him. THE STAR WARS ENCYCLOPEDIA has a better picture of him, too.

Cliff is "Everybody to your stations, lets go!"

They are one and the same. He plays Major Derlin, who is in two scenes: He tells Leia the shield doors must be closed, and he tells the pilots to all get to their stations.

 

Your right they are both "Cliff", but he sounds dubbed in the "Shield Doors..." scene.

That's too funny. I knew he was the "Everybody to your stations" guy, but never recognized his voice in the second part. Why the hell did they dub him there? ?

Sorry to disappoint you hard working Jedi but John Ratzenberger is neither the "shield doors.." person nor the "...stations.." person.

He is the one talking to Han who tells him that they've "been having trouble adapting the speeders to the cold.." just before Han decides to go out on a taun-taun in search of luke.

Now,I could be wrong about the "stations.." guy-it's been awhile since I've seen the movie but the "shield doors" person is definitely *not* Ratzenberger.

I'm going to watch the movie again just to make sure...

For that matter, does anyone know if you can actually see Ralph McQuarrie in TESB? Apparently he is in it.

 

If I remember correctly, all three of those guys - "shield doors," "stations," and "having trouble" - look the same, which would mean it's the same guy.

But isn't it that young guy who tells the Han the speeders still aren't working properly?
