Where was General Grievous in AOTC?

He just shows up out of nowhere in the Clone Wars Cartoon and later we also see him in ROTS but where was General Grievous in AOTC? was he on Cato Neimodia awaiting orders from Count Dooku or was he still just a Kalesh warlord and not mostly Droid yet?

An issue of SW Insider features the origins of General Grievous. From the story you are able to get a glimpse of his whereabouts prior to his appearance in the CW and ROTS. Grievous was actually involved in the Battle of Geonosis (towards the end of AOTC), however no one survived their encounter and so his existence remained a secret. To answer your question, Grievous was in the catacombs on Geonosis and killed several Jedi there.
