Which Zahn do you like more: Tim or Steve?

Which Zahn's work do you appreciate more: Tim Zahn or Steve Zahn?

Tim is a writer, (you should all know him ), and Steve is an actor from such flicks as Saving Silverman, Out of Sight, Freak Talks About Sex, National Security, Joy Ride, and Happy, Texas.

 

I don't know Steve, but anyone who stars in movies who's very title is perverted is gonna rank lower than a great, intellectual writer in my book.

 

None of the above.

Dubrin Zahn.

 

Tim Zahn, without a doubt.

 

I voted for Steve.

Why? Because Steve is an excellent comedian, whereas Tim is just an okay writer, in my opinion.

I first saw Steve in Saving Silverman, an excellent comedy which has become one of my favorites. And even though Jason Biggs had the title role in that film, it is my opinion that Steve Zahn was the real star, upstaging both Biggs and Jack Black.

Next, I saw him in Joy Ride, a bad film in which Steve was the only bright spot. He rose above the crappy script and plot to give a good performance, even despite the secondary, "comic-relief" role he was given.

Since, I have seen him in Freak Talks About Sex, Forces of Nature, Out of Sight, and Happy, Texas. I intend to see National Security soon, as well.

I also saw You've Got Mail, which he was in, but I don't remember that movie very well, so I couldn't tell you anything about who he played or what he was like in it. I mean, I didn't even know who Steve Zahn was at the time when I saw that flick.

Steve is also supposed to be in Riding in Cars With Boys, but I haven't seen that one.

Akira: From your sig, you are obviously heavily religious, but I suggest you know what you are talking about before you judge things. Sure, in the case of Freak Talks About Sex, the title is not misleading, but in many cases they can be. For instance, Lolita is a work whose very title has become a synonym for perversion, but it is still considered a classic piece of fiction. Not to mention, Freak Talks About Sex is a surprisingly deep film. It certainly made me think more than Tim's Thrawn Trilogy. Freak Talks About Sex is also one of the few in Steve's filmography that isn't really much of a comedy. While it has ironic moments and the title character of Freak, (played by Steve Zahn), is pretty odd, it was more of a dramatic film to me, much like High Fidelity was.

And if you find Timothy Zahn's works to be highly intellectual, I suggest you get out more.

I probably like Steve more, but I do still like Tim. It's kind of hard to compare the two.

That Thing You Do! is one of my favorite movies ever, with Steve Zahn being one of the main reasons. I like the the guy so much, I'm considering seeing Daddy Day Care just because of him (mind you, that's still in the consideration stage; the film looks pretty bad. ).

 

PEZman4: I haven't seen That Thing You Do. I'll have to look into it. And I didn't know he was going to be in Daddy Day Care. I might have to look into that too.

It's good to see at least one other person who likes Steve Zahn's work over Tim Zahn's. He is such a cool actor.

BTW: And as for comparing the two, just do what I did. Take your opinion of Tim Zahn as a writer and compare it with your opinion of Steve Zahn as an actor.

 

Gotta love 'em both!

Tim is a great writer, but Steve is a great actor.

It presents yet another catagory to consider. Especially for the ladies. I mean, c'mon. Steve's rugged good looks beat Tim's perpetual "white man's overbite" anyday.

 

Was gonna ask who Steve Zahn was, thankfully I was answered before I asked.

 

I've never liked Steve Zahn in any movie I've seen him in. Same with Ben Stiller.
