Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my hair temporarily white? I can't find any special costume stuff for it. I used shoe polish for a stage production once, but they've apparently changed the formula to stick better and I'm afraid to put it in my hair. Anything that can be found at a drug store that's safe and washes out?

The only thing that I saw work was gray colored hairspray. I don't know if that would work but it gave this guy I was in a play with almost completely gray hair except for a few spots. If you want it very white I'm not sure.

You could try making a white wig using synthetic KaneKalon hair. You can find this stuff in bags at beauty supply shops (wig shops usually don't carry anything like this and will look at you like you have two heads when you ask for bags of hair). It's good stuff (I'm using it for Chewie) and it's 1.99 per bag.

Over my my country there is a White Temporary Hair Spray (Party Fun Temporary Hair Color- Made in E.C/UK and Stylist Color-Made In TAiwan and ??). But for us Black Hair people, it turned out pale grey (if lots and lots with a few layers was used). Another disadvantage is that the hair will turn to straw if too much was used and some permanently colored.

Best is to get a wig. For one of my cosplay costumes, I bought a wig and shun for my eyebrows, it looks great.

Yeah, I would really recommend a wig. You can get cheap halloween wigs at most stores right now. If there's a halloween specialty store anywhere close to you, even better. They're bound to have something.

At the Halloween shops in my area, they are all carrying small cans of hair color spray. The color washes out with soap/shampoo and water.

We used white a couple weeks ago to help age an actor for a fan film roll. Sprayed on easily, worked great and washed right out.

    Have fun!

It's ~USD3-7 for the Party types (spray in a can) here.

Better ones or hair mascara (which most likely will take forever to dry) are around USD10.
