White Jedi Costume?

Has anyone made a Jedi costume that was primarily white? I was thinking about one for my daughter. She likes Leia and her favorite color is pink. Her lightsaber matches her brothers (Style VI from BYB).

I am helping my son with a Sith costume and I thought it might be neat to have her in white as a Jedi. Sort of like Leia if she was a Jedi. Any thoughts? Any pics you have would be appreciated!

 

Have you seen Atris and/or her handmaidens in Knights of the Old Republic 2? Very cool white Jedi costumes. Google image search is your friend.

You could also try the KOTOR2 website - I think they have pics in the characters section of them.

You might try some off-white material. White would be cool, but it seems that with white material, a lot of the details aren't very prominant. I'd look at some muslin-type material. It's lightweight, just off white, and easy to sew. But hey, it's your daughter, and you should tailor it to what she wants!

 

If your daughter really likes Leia, you might want to head over to the Official SW website and check out the cover for Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen, it has Leia in white Jedi robes with a lightsaber. It might be something you could emulate.

a white one would be cool... black with white tabbards looked cool, though i forget where i saw it...

but white does give it a huge jedi leia look

 

well if you use fabric with a shine and then fabric that is flat you could get a very cool effect with the folds of the tunic and the contrast against the belt wrap...

i wish i knew the names of the pieces...

to be honest.. i was thinking about making a white jedi uniform to get married in... with a sheer cloak...

not sure anymore... but just some ideas.. maybe some one with a bit more flare for fabric words can explain this better... maybe

For the costume, I have a pair of black karate pants (hand-me-downs from big brother), black knee boots and white ankle boots.

Different material appeals to me for the tunic and cloak. Any ideas for contrasting material that would work together is appreciated.

If we stay with the black pants, I might do black pleather tabards. Then the tabards and pants would match her brother. Maybe show Leia in conflict with the dark side since there is a tendacy for this in her family . I'm not sure, white ornate tabards might be way cool!

Any thoughts?

Sillynous, did you get a chance to check out the book cover for The Unseen Queen yet?

 

The one I saw this weekend was a picture of Leia (from chest up) holding a lightsaber with what looked like 2 alien ants behind her. Is this the same one? If so, I wish they had shown a full body shot. But, the picture shows a good neckline anyway.

Yep, that's the one. I did a custom figure of her, and based upon what I could see in the reference, her garb looks like it's a gown similar to her ANH gown sans hood, with either ANH Obi-Wan style tunics over it or white tabbards with a white Jedi outer robe over that. I did my custom figure with long white tabbards and a wide silver belt, but I may go back and make a Kimono style robe like Obi-Wan's for over the gown.

 

Jedi Master Fay's robes (apart from the outerrobe) were white with nice scrolling detailing along the edges. She was in the Clone Wars Comics. You might be able to find pics in the Encyclopedia here.

Do you have a pic? I checked the customs you made on your web site but didn't see it.

 

Not yet. I may still be making some changes yet, as I said before. I will be taking pics once I'm ready to though.
