Who are all the users of Battle Meditation?

(please, no KotOR2 spoilers, haven't picked it up yet)

So, I know Nomi Sunrider, Sids/Declaan/C'baoth, and Bastila use it...who else? It seems like a valuable skill, and wouldn't there be at least a Jedi or two in PT who knows it? Battle/Mind Meld seems similar, but that's different--I'm looking for a list of all users of bona fide Battle Meditation.

Any help, Litizens?

 

Plo Koon's one of 'em.

If memory serves, he used it during the Stark Hyperspace War to decoy a bunch of fighters off his Republic cruiser's escape from Thyferra.

Another one might be Master Kirlocca, the former Jedi Watchman of Almas, from the Living Force Campaign Set. A Wookiee, he used the meditation for long stretches, attempting to keep the Almas dark side-taint at bay.

 

Palpatine, obviously. Or did you mean him by Sids?

 

Ooroo, Odan-Urr, Arca Jeth, Vodo-Siosk Baas, Thon, Tott Doneeta, Oss Wilum, Dace Diath, Yarael Poof, and Oppo Rancisis according to the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook...

Plo Koon does not have the ability...

 

Who are Ooroo and Odan-Urr? I've heard the latter's name before, but no real specifics.

And if they know BM, why isn't it really factoring into the CW at all? I mean, most CIS forces are droid, but wouldn't it be a big help against any organic fighters the Jedi run into?

EDIT: And is that the sort of ability that could be S or N-canon as gameplay mechanics, or is it more likely to actually be considered?

Poof is dead, but he showed great skill with illusions. It's no far reach to say he had Battle Meditation too. And Oppo....maybe he isn't as skilled as the masters of old.

The stats are considered as canon as the novels or comics.

No, I'm rather certain he used it in that story, aided by Adi Gallia and Qui-Gon. Owing to that, it might not've been one of his prime talents, but he certainly plugged into it somehow.

Oppo was likely the Republic's premier practioner during the whole "Rise of the Empire" epoch.

 

It seems to me that Plo's illusion was more on par with the Fallanassi's usage of illusions in the Black Fleet Crisis...

 

Just checked Timetales, and it says Plo uses BM, for what it's worth.

If all of those came from PotJ, does the DSSB have stats on any Dark Jedi? It seems like a very cool idea that has gone underused in the EU, and it seems like the RPG has touched on it more.

 

When was Battle Meditation introduced into the Star Wars EU, and who came up with it, anyway? And did Lucas ever have anything to say on it?

I ask simply because I really hate the idea behind it. It feels like a cheap way of explaining a defeat on the part of the enemy or making the good guy's victory seem lesser.

 

I think it was back in the Tales of the Jedi comics...

 

Was C'baoth's power really Battle Meditation or just mind control?

 

I'm thinking it was. Because it was with C'Boath in battle that Thrawn was explaining the idea to Paelleon, whose name I never will quite remember how to spell.

 

What About Jacen Solo? He was a master of Battle Meld.

Secondly, I think that BM is a very good idea--it explains exactly how Jedi are regarded as such awesome figures, because they can do things like singlehandedly swing a battle involving millions of troops.

 

Leia used elementary Battle Meditation when facing the Emperor above the Pinnacle Moon, according to Vima-da-Boda in Empire's End.

Grand Admiral Declann: this dark-skinned man was one of the original twelve Grand Admirals of the Empire. A man known for his threatening demeanor and morose personality, Declann was also a student of the Force. He could use a telepathic connection to his troops to merge them into a unified force. He developed his military expertise as a soldier in the Army of the Republic, surviving the Clone Wars before joining the Empire as a TIE Fighter pilot. His skills with the Force left him with a nagging question: why hadn't he ever been chosen for training by the Jedi Knights? Emperor Palpatine, recognizing his military skills and strength in the Force, began training Declann in the ways of the Sith. With these skills, Declann became one of the primary sources of coordination during the Battle of Endor, using his telepathic skills aboard the second Death Star to keep the Imperial forces aware of any possible Alliance threat. However, when Darth Vader turned on the Emperor and threw him down a power shaft, Declann felt the Emperor's death through the Force. [/i]Declann dropped his connection to the Imperial forces[/i] and tried to reach the Emperor, but the Death Star exploded before he could reach the throne room. Declann was killed in the explosion.

 

I didnt think Vima was in Empires End. I thought she disappeared between DE II and EE.

Vima is definetly in EE. After that, she teached at Luke's academy for a short time and then disappeared.
