Phx Who created the Blaster Worm

A simple question really:
If you knew that tens of thousands of people across the nation are using a several hundred dollar product of yours, but never paid for it. Suddenly you come up with a way to write a rather nasty virus that attacks those people specifically because you know they can't patch their product without admitting their theft. Would you release that virus?

 

Actually, programmers & number crunchers are paid well for what they do.
Thoes people go insane just looking at code.

Its when programs are terminated and never sold is when thoes people get mad.

Look up the story for the only never released Playstation game: Thrill Kill

I was told the programmers compiled the game after it was deemed "never to be released" by EA.

 

Didn't Bill Gates come up with the Blaster Worm?

 

Hmmm, maybe this post should have been a poll. Based on what you know, and motive.
Do you think Billy Boy Gates was in any way responsible for the creation of the "Blaster Worm"

 

Heck, I'd be impressed if he did do it, but I highly doubt it. The man doesn't need the bad press.

More than likely it was a highly lawful person taking revenge against those who drive OS prices high. After all, if everyone bought their OS--rather than whatever percentage of folks end up stealing it--then the per unit cost would go down.

The other likely option is that it was a highly chaotic individual who found a way to hurt people and didn't care who it was that got hurt.

 

The man doesn't need the bad press.
