That would be the wife of Bail, I'm guessing.. Not sure really, I can't remeber but I think she died a long time ago, not really sure...

Maybe this will be cleared up after Episode 3. :)

My guess is that she's dead. Leia remembers her mother, who died when she was very young, but I doubt that was Padmé. Leia says taht her mother was sad. That's probably because she and Bail couldn't have their own child for some reason. She died when Leia was young, probably because Bail and her tried to have a kid again. They had tried it before, and the Jedi healers said that it had almost killed her, and that they shouldn't try again. If they tried again in the Empire, there would be no Jedi Healers to help them.

On a side mote, isn't it knod of weird how the Senator from Alderaan became the king? ;p

The Viceroy, I think his title is by ANH. :)

Bail mentions his wife briefly in the ROTS novelisation. It's a passing comment, if anything, though.

Her name is Breha, and she "queens". No, j/k, it's just a title.

She is a queen, but Alderaan is a democracy.

    She's the minister of education.

I agree with Tier. But that was kinda a spoiler. They tell who she is in the ROTS novelization.

She's not her stepmom. She's her mother, who raised her from infancy. Adopted kids are your kids.

Anakin and Padme are Leia's biological parents. Neither of whom had she ever known. She didn't even know what they looked like.

    The Organas are her parents.

They are her adoptive parents, yes. Leia considers them her parents in all the ways that matter, and it wasn't for a long time after Luke told her about her biological parentage that she could reconcile that she's the daugther of the man who became Vader.

Hmm, that's quite a guess. ;) I don't think Lucas would have included that line in such a pivotal scene if Leia wasn't talking about Padme.
