My buddies and I, having gotten into the rum a bit, have a running battle going about who is the 'bigger' whiner, defined as the loudest and with the most groundless complaints.

Now, Anakin puts in a fine effort in AotC with his initial attemp to elicit sympathy from Padme via:

"It's worse... they're overly critical! They never listen! They just don't understand. It's not fair!

Yet Luke has the nearly incomparable:

    "That's not true...that's impossible!...nnnoooOOooO!"

Now that's tough enough, but Luke also gets to whine about Biggs heading to the academy ("But it's a whole 'nuther year!" ... "Looks like I'm going nowhere") while Anakin has some good gripes about his own training ("It's all Obi-Wan's fault. He's jealous! He knows I'm already more powerful than he is. He's holding me back!")

Personally I think Anakin is doing more whining, yet he was raised in slavery while Luke got the relative (no pun intended) comfort of Owen/Beru. So Anakin may have more legitimate gripes.

    Like father like son....

Anakin is the bigger whiner of the two; he whines and complains so much that he turns to the Dark Side because Obi-Wan is "overly critical." I mean, I think Luke has some justification in his words, "That's not true...that's impossible." He DID just find out his father is the most ruthless murderer in the galaxy. Cut our boy hero some slack. ;)
