I'm talking someone who sweats blood and cries nails. The biggest, baddest man or woman out there.

They can be from films, TV shows, games, comics, or even books. Name as many as you want!

to me someone super powerful is almost automatically disqualified. it doesn't take a lot of courage to be tough when you're superman or thor or whatever. similarly someone who is super well-trained or has a ridiculous arsenal of weaponry is hard for me to see as being really badass. to be badass you kind of have to have the odds totally stacked against you, to be out of your depth, and to stand up and fight anyway.

with that in mind, vincent adultman dated a 40-year old woman for like 2 years without her ever finding out that he was actually just three children stacked on top of each other in a trench coat. now that's pretty badass.

Ike from the Fire Emblem series. He fights for his friends, and his boyfriend is a wizard.

Honestly, for me, that's why it's probably always going to be Indiana Jones. He gets through based entirely on luck and determination. There's always a scene that consists entirely of him getting the **** kicked out of him and he always gets out of those scrapes because of good luck and the fact that, for everything else the bad guys can do to him, they can't just get him to stop. He just keeps trying and every time he just. barely. makes it. And he has nothing to prove. You bring a sword to a gunfight, he'll shoot you. And, by the way, he's always scared. Always. That's kind of like the biggest thing Harrison Ford brought to the action genre: the willingness to show fear. Like you say, Superman's not scared; neither is Arnie or Sly or the Rock or Vin Diesel. They're too tough. Harrison Ford looked like he literally thought he was going to die.

It's telling that the below is one of the most iconic moments of the entire franchise.

But, you know what? Tomorrow, he'll be back out there. That's a badass.

My one is a character that's very close to my heart. The character that got me into comics and the MCU...

    Captain America

He has all the qualities that make a good human being. He's loyal, he never gives up, he's a leader, he's strong willed, he's kind/friendly, he's helpful, he's motivated, he fights for what's right. He's everything. He came from nothing, but his sheer motivation to serve his country got him to a place he could only ever dream of. I feel like he's proven himself more than any fictional character in history.

When faced with impossible tasks, he doesn't even think twice about quitting. Instead he just goes for it. Look at Thanos, the ultimate evil being, stronger than any threat the Avengers have ever faced in their lives. Someone who thrashed the Hulk and Thor like they were nothing. What does Cap do? Charges to stop him. Thanos then throws him aside, along with every other hero. What does Cap do next? Gets back up and charges him again. Even Thanos can't believe what he's witnessing. Then Cap does it again in Endgame along side Thor and Iron Man. Those two have the strength to fight him, but Cap doesn't. Does that concern him? Not at all.

And then finally in Endgame, after all those years of Cap proving himself to be the best among everyone, he unlocks his true potential and becomes worthy enough to wield Mjolnir and the powers of Thor. He's then willing to face Thanos and his entire army all by himself.

    Also... this is pretty badass:

For me, I'd say it would have to be Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Jolie's Maleficent, Wonder Woman, Sailor Moon (Japanese anime), Eowyn, Luthien, Hathaway's Catwoman, or someone portrayed by Felicity Jones or Jennifer Lawrence. Can't decide. Their posters are all on my walls. ;)

Rogue makes a compelling case, that’s hard to argue with.

    Captain America isn’t a bad ass, he’s America’s ass.

So to add to Indiana, I’ll go with Jack Bauer, Roland Deschain (books), Offred (tv show), and Ripley. And Sarah Connor.

With very special mentions for Jim Holden in The Expanse, Naomi Negata in The Expanse, and if we are going back further than 40 years, Edmund Dante.
