"Who is your daddy, and what does he do?" The celebrity prank-call phenomenon

Since about early 2001, this trend of listening to, and creating, celebrity prank-call messages has ballooned to epic proportions.

On a daily basis, it seems as though hundreds of morning radio DJs either play these amusing recordings, found off of the internet, or they make their own, holding contests to see what random southerner gets the lucky call, and how long they can stay on the line with the likes of Miss Cleo.

This fascinates me. It's a new facet of comedy that hasn't been seen before in large degrees. And oh boy is it funny...

My favorites are still the Arnold ones. Yes, we've all heard them hundreds of times, but there's nothing more silly and ridiculous than some guy sitting at a computer, manipulating the same six Kindergarten Cop lines at a computer board while some hapless fogie thinks he's arguing with a real person. Not to mention when the guy controlling the call can't properly answer, and goes silent as he thinks of a response for "Arnold" to say...

There's some other good ones out there, most notably Al Pacino.

 

Actually, the best on that I have heard is the call that has a women arguing with Col. Nathan R. Jessup from A Few Good Men. Now that is funny.

 

That's a good one. That lady gets pissed.

The Miss. Cleo prank calls are really funny. I have at least 30 prank calls downloaded on my computer, and the Sgt. HartMan calls Store is the funniest.


Any of you listen to the Al Pacino ones? Those are funny, too. Look for Al Pacino calls Limo Guy. The funniest, in my opinion.

^^^ he said that like 5 times which made me laugh cause I knew it was some prank.

...later I found out by his sister telling me this. hehe.

I have that. It's a little bit funny.

The best Arnold parody I've heard is "Total Recallin'", a song parody of "Free Fallin', sung by "Arnold".

 

OMG, the Arnold prank calls are the funniest things I have ever heard.

Arnold: Good morning!

Person: Yes?

Arnold: How are you?

Person: Good, and you?

Arnold: ...Yes.

Person: Can I help you?

Arnold: I want to ask you a bunch of questions, and I want to have them answered immediately.

Person: Uhh, ok. What are they?

Arnold: Who is your daddy? Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

Person: Who are you?

Arnold: I'm Detective John Kimble!

Person: Who?

Arnold: Hey, I'm a police officer.

Person: You're a police officer?

Arnold: I'm a cop you idiot!

Man, I have a CD with 80 minutes of Arnold prank calls.

I've done the Arnold and the Sam Jackson to people... Arnold worked better. It was GREAT.

On the BBC website under the Doctor Who page is some bewdies where he mimmics Tom Baker (Best. DR. Who. Ever.) And actually even rings up the real Tom Baker in what I think is an absolute classic, give it a listen if you're into that series.

 

What do you guys think is the best Arnold prank call ever?

I think the one where he calls Dominos Pizza is classic, as well as the one where he calls Preferred Reality.

 

My favorites are the Gateway calls. "My CPU is a neural net processor. A learning computer."

I actually made a fake prank phone call by combining Arnold sound clips with a recording of a prank call someone made to the freshman chemistry professor's TV show. It's pretty funny.

 

I've only heard the Arnold ones, but they're hillarious! Anyone know the names of some others I can download?

The ones on that show "Crank Yankers" on Comedy Central are pretty funny

 

My fav is when Arnold calls an Asian man and gets him to yell back.

....."I'm affraid of Sarah Conner."

"Yoooo afray ov hooo?"

"I'm affraid of Sarah Conner."

"I do not noe this.....A sayno koddoe"
