Who played Queen Amidala?

Sorry if this is a very stupid question and has been handled before.

But I get the feeling that the decoy Queen Amidala, the person who for example says "Honourable representatives of the Republic, I come before You in the gravest of circumstanses" is not Natalie Portman. It doesn´t sound like her accent and the "queen" doesn´t look like her either... Was there two different actors for Padmé and her "decoy Queen" or did Portman play them both? Please don´t laugh at me, I´m really confused on this matter.

The Queen is Natalie Portman in voice and body in all scenes except the scene where she goes to Boss Nass. There it is not actually the Queen but her decoy. It is still Natalie's voice however.

 

Keira Knightley played Sabe, the Queen's decoy.

 

What about when they are about to hi-jack the royal starship and she says, "We are brave your highness."

Is Portman playing both the handmaiden and the queen in that scene?

Nope, that's Keira Knightley playing the queen when she says, "Either choice presents great danger." It's also Keira playing the Queen during R2's introduction after he saved the ship. Natalie never played the Queen and the decoy in the same shot.

You need only to be able to tell the difference between Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley. Watch that scene again, the "We are brave" scene. I think it's pretty easy to tell them apart. It was also Keira's own voice whenver she played the Queen.

 

They would only use blue screen if Sabe was her clone decoy. The whole point of the make-up is to make the already subtle differences in their faces even less noticable.
