Who said "who are you" to 3PO In ESB? Kermit? Yoda?

C3PO says to Chewy "Stormtrooers, here, I must tell the others... OH NO ive been shot!!"

But the scene of him getting blasted, you hear "who are you?" Off camera, and it sounds like Grover from sesame street.

So who is that? An Imperial officer with a soar throat? Boba Fett played by Grover? A new clone?
The ice cream maker guy? WHO?

And seriously George, fix this in your super dooper, Editions in 2007. Just make the voice sound like a PERSON. Not Grover.

 

Yeah, that voice is pretty weird. Who decides what voices to add anyway? Some are just silly. It sounds like Frank Oz was called in for that voice over, lol.

I guess the idea being that it can't sound like a Stormtrooper, that gives it away that they're in Bespin. You're really not supposed to know who it is, could be a droid, maybe not. I remember in an older print of ESB. The voice saying, who are you?, sounded different.

 

How do you sound like a storm trooper? Can I take a class or something?

Stroomtroopers sound like they're talking thru a radio and they don't have raspy voices like this, who are you? character.

 

To sound like a stormtrooper, simply cup your hands to your mouth and say something in them. Say something like "Blast them!" Or, "freeze"

You can also mimick the clicking sound before and after they speak, for added effect. Try it.

Now, after that. Do this same exercise again, but this time Use a grover imitation, or a yoda voice.
Its really quite amusing.

 

Ben burtt? or Bert from Bert & Ernie? lol sorry. If it was Ben burtt, then Ben burtt must pay! It's as simple as that.

Ugnaught's sound like hampsters, they dont speak.
Its simply Grover commanding a squad of Stormtroopers.
And Grover does indeed SHOOT first.

Because it sounds out of place, and has never been explained. I mean, everytime I hear that im thinking, who the hell can that be??

 

I always thought it was an Ugnaught, too. I could see one being able to speak Basic and sounding like that, but now I can't. You had to ruin that for me.

 

I think the more important question here is, not who said "who are you" to 3PO, but why was he shot in the first place? Afterall, another protocol droid (e chu ta) had just come out of the same room 3PO was walking into. Come to think about it, the "who are you" line doesn't make much sense then does it? Do Stormtroopers usually blast protocol droids walking around?

It wasn't a stormtrooper.
It wasn't blondy the Imperial/Boba Fett Officer.
It wasn't Ugnaughts or Muppets.

It was simply another droid that spoke basic.

3P0 stumbled across 'droid maintenance' after hearing an R2 unit. He entered upon hearing an Artoo unit.

Lonely, and nostalgic, 3P0 wandered within, and met up with his doppelganger. A protocol droid that rudely told him off in another language.

The ironic 'How Rude!' comment followed, and further he went.

Only to be discoverd by a third party droid that was 'hosting' the Stormtroopers and did nothing as the Imps took him out.

It was simply another Lucas-mirror of irony.

In Ep4, 3P0 and Artoo tricked a stormtrooper into leaving and attending 'maintenance'

In Ep5 3P0's deception comes to an ironic full circle and ends up the one needing maintenance.

It was a droid.

There has never been a question in my mind that the only people c3p0 was talking to in that scene were evil droids...

And the thing C3p0 says when he is switched on are things he was thinking, or were in his buffer, after he was unable to speak anymore.

 

What I want to know is why this person/droid/thing shot 3PO. He wasn't a thread, and right before it happened, we saw a protocal droid walk out from that room. So I'm really interested to know why this thing would rather destroy a droid rather than reprogram him or sell him.

 

It should sound like a storm trooper. Actually you know how i always picture who was in that room, a group of storm troopers, just chilling, helmets off, checking there weapons etc waiting to suprise attack solo,

so it should be the same as the storm trooper voice minus the effect that he has his helmet on would be perfect.
