in ESB, obi-wan comes back to plead for yoda to train Luke. yoda says luke is wreckless, and then obi-wan says that he was wreckless too. whats that all about? did yoda train a wreckless obi-wan? or did qui-gon have great padawan like i remember?

Maybe Obi-Wan was a wild youngling but in AOTC he seems to be a pretty by-the-book kind of guy

Note that Yoda is in charge of training the younger Padawans-I'm guessing that this is where a Jedi receives most of his formal training, like sabre dueling, mind-tricks, etc. Folks like Qui-Gon are field Masters-they're in charge of supervising the more senior Padawans while they practice their abilities in a real-world environment.
    At least, that's my guess.

In other words, both did. Obi-Wan just learned more from Yoda, IMO.

Maybe it's like vampire sireing in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Darla turned Angel who turned Drusilla who turned Spike

Yoda trained Dooku who trained Qui-Gon who trained Obi-Wan.

    It could happen...

Both Qui-Gon and Yoda trained Obi-Wan. It's not that hard to figure out.

Yoda helped train Obi-Wan for the first 13 or so years, as a youngling and Jedi student.

Then Qui-Gon took him on as a Padawan, and trained him from there.

So you see, what he said was true...from a certain point of view... :p

I think maybe Obi-wan referd to the fact that After the death of Qui-Gon, Yoda maybe became like his mentor... It seems like Yoda and Obi-wan have a connection. After all for some reason they were the only two remaining Jedi. Yoda must have had a connection with him to trust him with Luke.

Obi-wan is wreckless,,, when he Jumped out the window and rode the probe droid. Apparently he had been wreckless when anakin had rescued him from the nest of Gundars.. fell into.

Nah, what really happened is that Yoda trained Obi-Wan when he was a kid, before Qui-Gon took over.

So far, almost all of you are right.

We don't know who trained Qui-Gon. Or Yoda. But that was so long ago, there isn't a point in looking for an answer in the realm of the movies.

And even the EU hasn't answered that, as far as I know.

Yoda trained Obi-Wan till he was about 7 years old with other younglings of the same age.[audio commentary by George Lucas on AOTC DVD] and Qui Gon trained him after that.

    So, they both did.

Actually, Yoda trained Obi-Wan until he was 13.
